U-Haul Moving & Storage of Lakewood

On October 10, 2020, I went to purchase a bike hitch at 9am at 8th and Wadsworth Uhaul location. Female GM was courteous and kind. Honda hitch was not available. GM found one at Arvada location and reserved it for me. She offered to have hitch delivered but I needed hitch same day. I wanted pick up hitch due to limited supply issues because of Covid. So, I drove 20 minutes and picked up hitch at 64th and Wadsworth Arvada Uhaul. Casey seated at his comfy desk chair- would not place hitch on my car despite having no customers in Arvada store and an additional male employee on phone. I was the only customer at Arvada location. Futhermore, Casey said he only does hitch work during the week on appointment only in advance. Casey said hitch takes 90 minutes to install.

So I paid for hitch and drove back to 8th and Wadsworth Uhaul location. Female GM was busy processing many trucks. I saw her constantly moving in and out door/garage moving trucks for customers.

I asked if she could attach my bike hitch and she said, "Of course, I can put it on right now in a few minutes." I waited patiently as GM moved trucks blocking garage and drove my car onto ramp for me. I was aftaid of not backing car up correctly onto ramp. GM offered me a chair so I could watch my 4-year-old. Hitch was assembled efficiently and safely in 30-40 minutes.

LESSON: Jessica GM at 8th and Wadsworth location works extremely hard, gets her hands dirty, hustles, and provides excellent service. GM at 8th and Wadsworth location clearly understands the importance quality customer service and hard work. She not sitting at a chair making excuses She is standing and constantly moving to ensure customers get their trucks and hitches on time. I will always recommend this UHAUL location. ?❤

I'm updating my review based on the overall service I received from this location.

I initially visited to have a hitch installed, but the model I needed was not in stock. While I would have appreciated being able to take care of this in 1 trip (it took 3) the location (especially Jessica) and U-Haul management worked to make things right. While the hitch I needed was not easy for them to have shipped, they found a location that had it and expedited it's delivery so I could have my hitch installed ASAP.

Initially, I was very irritated and frustrated since it took multiple visits, emails, and phone calls to sort this out, but I appreciate how willing they were to work with me.

I was hesitant to rent from this location due to the reviews but we had a great experience. The customer service / check in process was easy. I ended up running a little behind with my move and needed a few extra hours past my initial reservation and they accomadated me with no issue. They also clean the truck out when done versus other places that require you to do it yourself before returning.

The staff and service at this location is great. I had an issue with a hitch install performed at a different location. The staff here (Jessica specifically) took care of my issue without hesitation and were very friendly while doing so.
