What can I say about Dr. Belandria! He is a wonderful animal surgeon and has become family. Our 9 year old Siberian Husky Jasmine had to have her first TPLO surgery two years ago on her right leg. Dr. Belandria was referred to us by our vet with two other places. When calling the other facilities they just seemed cold. When we called Dr. Belandria he made us feel safe and explained to us what was going on with our girl and we set up a consultation. His price was also more reasonable than the other places. When we arrived he was so inviting and personable. He made sure that he became friends with Jasmine to make her feel comfortable. She does not like being in a vets office at all. And oh my he is the dog whisperer. She fell in love with him. They became friends instantly. They day of the surgery he went over the procedure with us once again and made us feel comfortable. When she was finished she was still groggy. We got her home and Dr. B checked on her that night, and the following morning and the days and weeks after. When we went for her x-ray she was so excited to see him. The results were fantastic, she was healing perfect. Two years later with the lovely Covid-19 going on we were in the same situation with needing to have the same surgery on her left leg. The minute we knew she needed surgery we called Dr. B and he got us in as soon as possible. We went to go see him and had our consult outside. Once again she was excited to see her friend. He looked her over and explained to us once again the procedure and then we sat there for almost two more hours just talking and catching up. The day of surgery we got her there at the time he asked us to. We were able to pick her up at 9:30pm that night. Unfortunately he had an emergency that he had to get to so he couldn't get to jasmine right away. He kept in communication with us throughout the whole day. When we arrived he helped my husband put her in the vehicle. He went over all of the information we need for after care as well as the medication. He was also nice and made us some slings to use for her. Once again he checked on her like always. We went last week and had her sutures removed and showed him how wonderful she was doing. And once again sat and talked for about almost 2 hours. I don't know what we would have done if we didn't chose Dr. Belandria to conduct her TPLO surgery. I am very grateful for having him for her surgeon and a part of our family. I highly recommend him to anyone needing TPLO surgery or whatever other kind of surgery is needed.

Dr. Belandria goes above and beyond most vets I've dealt with over the past 20 years. I currently have an 11yr old dog that has had various orthopedic issues over the past 2 years without being able to receive a clear diagnosis of what's happening. The latest issue happened yesterday while out walking he would not put weight on one of his back legs.

A friend passed along Dr. Belandria's info and upon calling, he extraordinarily wanted to exam my dog that evening after his surgeries. After a long day of surgeries he met us in the parking lot of the surgery center for an exam at 7:30pm. It was the most thorough exam we've ever had. We were there until 9pm. He was very helpful, knowledgeable & oh so kind (my dog is generally stand-offish with strangers but immediately gave Dr. Belandria kisses). Thankfully only a soft tissue injury was suspected from the exam. He is very respectful of not wasting money on procedures that aren't necessary. He said he could take my money and do some further X-rays if I so chose that route or we could give a weeks healing time first. My dog has been through CT Scans, X-Rays, spinal taps & I appreciated his recommendation to not jump straight to testing.

Unlike the experience of the one star reviewer here, I was thankful not to be inside during this COVID time. This is the 3rd vet we've seen since COVID & none of them let humans inside so I'm not sure what that complaint is about. Other vets just take my dog away & then call me with findings. Dr Belandria performed an outdoor socially distanced/mask wearing exam. The cardboard comment is also a little bizarre in that it provides some cushioning on concrete or some barrier between grass & your dog where other dogs might have used the bathroom. And lucky for the other pet owner that it sounds like she hasn't had to have many exams/injuries/illnesses with her pets. I've always had to hold my current dog during multiple orthopedic exams; I had a dog who had his hip replaced & was heavily sedated with morphine during surgery/post op for his comfort and quietness & I've had another dog yelp while being given a rabies vaccine.

Thanks Dr. Belandria for taking such good care of Decaf & he was so gentle with his exam that as soon as we came home, Decaf was ready to play!

Dr.Belandria is the best! He was kind, patient and cared so much for both my pups. Unfortunately, both my dogs needed a TPLO this year and after a great experience with my first dog, I didn’t even think twice to take my other dog to him. It was a little different the second time around because of COVID but Dr.B did a wonderful job with both my boys and now they’re slowly going back to normal activities. I recommend Dr. B over anyone else for ortho.

Dr. Belandria did an excellent TPLO surgery on our big bully pitty mix. He was caring, kind and available besides being an excellent specialist vet. He was also very conscientious following pandemic guidelines to keep everyone safe and healthy. His reasonable prices compared to the others out there make it possible for many to be able to afford to have the surgeries done....thank you, Dr. B!! I highly recommend him and his kind wonderful caring staff at the Animal Surgical Clinic - they were all just wonderful.
