(January 9, 2019, 5:29 pm)Could not speak more highly of Peter or his team at Ascent. His classes are second to none, easy to follow, and if you pay attention you are almost guaranteed to catch more and bigger fish. On top of that he's the only biologist I know who responds to a call about fish questions or tips. Simply put, there is no one I would recommend more than Ascent Fly Fishing.

Peter goes above and beyond by not only telling you what waters are hot, he will tell you exactly what spots to fish in those waters and his knowledge of the entomology means he knows exactly what to use. Down to earth and accessible to all fly fishermen and women! Highly recommend you check them out!

Planning to stop by again to load up with flies, also planning to attend soon an entomology class with Peter/Ascent Fly Fishing.

(August 30, 2018, 2:02 pm)I was recommended by a co-worker to come meet Peter and get help filling out my fly box. I'm so glad I took the 40 minute drive to come down to his shop. He took almost 40 minutes helping me build out my fly box specific to the waters we discussed I would be fishing and explaining each of the flies he was setting me up with. Whether you are new to fly fishing or a seasoned veteran you should go see Peter. Also try beating a buck a fly, his process are the best around. Thanks Peter, I'll be back

(August 16, 2018, 11:34 pm)I was planning on a fishing trip with my mom to central Utah. I had a lot of questions. I made an appointment to meet with Peter at his shop. I arrived and Peter immediately offered my a beverage and let me pet his dog, Cedar. I instantly knew that I was at a great fly shop. Peter asked me many pertinent questions about the trip, so he could build me a custom selection of flies just for the trip. I showed him my fly box so he could see what I already had. He quickly went to work and stocked me with relevant flies for the occasion. He took the time to explain all of the flies to me and even did some on the fly research to suggest a few places to fish. This was supremely helpful because I had never been to this part of Utah before. The trip went better than expected and I caught fish on the lakes Peter suggested, with the flies that he suggested. Since Peter is an aquatic biologist and an experienced fly fisher, he gives world class advice. It is a nice touch to be able to pet a friendly Labrador and enjoy a complimentary beverage while receiving top shelf information. This is a rare and a pleasant place.
