Saucy Buns bbq formerly Johnny macs cafe

One of my housemates left a menu from Saucy Buns on the kitchen counter and the name tickled my fancy, so when it was time to have lunch out with a friend, I suggested this place. Both he and I love little places like this, so we were looking forward to it, and we were right to! It's the best barbecue I've had since moving west from Tennessee. The menu is small, but that's a point in its favor. It usually means that the folks that are running place know their strengths aren play to them. I got the pulled pork and it was wonderfully done and the sauce was amazing. The potato salad was just about perfect, and this is coming from a southern girl with high standards for potato salad. I'll definitely be going back to try the rest of the menu.

OMG - the owner told us their brisket was Texas style, and is she ever right! The taste of my childhood in Fort Worth, complete with onions and dill pickle. The fries (crinkle and sweet potato) were fresh and hot, the Texas Toast was buttery and the corn on the cob was to die for. We'll be back, and soon!

Came to eat at Johnny’s and found that it is newly owned. It is now an amazing bbq place! Pleasant unexpected surprise. Also the new owner came and talked to us. Super friendly and welcoming. And just around the corner! Sweet we needed this in the area ????. We will be stopping by more often.

Fantastic bbq. The brisket, chicken and pulled pork are all some of the BEST! So happy to have this place close by. If you enjoy bbq at all, you must try them out.
