Met one of the Rangers when visiting the USA and having our first go at walking in Snow Shoes. We were at Bear Lake, which was frozen over. The Ranger was great, telling us all about the place, and leading us out onto the ice of the frozen lake. Pretty scary for English guys hearing the ice cracking under our snow shoes! The Ranger service is one of the greatest things about America's National Parks. A big thank you to all of the Rangers we met in the Rocky Mountains National Park and especially those in Estes Park. You've added huge value to our many trips to the USA.
One of the most amazing hikes to date.
