  I had been searching for a diagnosis for more than 8 months. I was struggling with severe fatigue, chronic pain and a loss of mobility. I had been to so many doctors that wanted to do unnecessary and invasive tests and procedures. I got a referral to rheumatology by my PCP and the first doc I saw was rude, unsympathetic and dismissed symptoms. I asked the staff at the UC health how to find a different provider and they set me up the next day to see Dr.Howe. She was absolutely wonderful. She gave me an exam and a diagnosis. She told me the unfiltered truth about the degenerative nature of my illness, but also gave me a lot of hope for how to manage it. She spent most of our appointment giving me advice and answering questions and she stayed in the room with me until she was satisfied that I understood what my next steps were. She was incredibly kind, and let me know that if I need her help in the future to just call and make an appointment. She gave me resources I had been looking for for so long and referrals for pain management. I am eternally grateful to Dr.Howe for her help, and knowing that I am always welcome back if needed makes me feel like I am not doing this alone. She's a wonderful doc, and I recommend that you have her on your team.

  She is wonderful. I would highly recommend her. She listens well. Explains until I understand, and is very knowledgeable.

  Saw this awesome dioctor yesterday. My daughter has EDS. Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and the amount of joint pain she has is disabling. Rarely does anyone take the time to listen because she’s young and female so obviously it must be all in her head despite been diagnosed by UCH geneticist. Dr Howe was so understanding and took her time to listen to my daughters story. She is very knowledgeable and empathetic. There’s not much that can be done except PT and bracing but she was full of other suggestions and we left feeling like she cared. That’s huge when you have a rare disorder and you’ve been treated so badly by numerious providers who don’t understand the condition. My daughter been told you’re too young to be this sick or your too pretty to be wasting your life focusing on pain you don’t have. Dr Howe was willing to listen and offer what help she could. We didn’t leave in tears feeling completely defeated and dismissed. Thank you for your compassion Dr Howe. I wish more providers had your ability to see the patient and not just their diagnosis. Highly recommend her if you want a thorough well versed and kind hearted provider UCHEALTH better keep her around she’s a star in our book
