“I had an EMG test about a couple years ago from a Nuerologist separate from this office and it was the most disturbing, painful and horrible experience I had ever experienced in all my medical history. When I needed to have the test again a year ago I said would never go there again, I was referred to Dr. Barrett. Her tech called me back for the test and as he was getting me set up, in chatting I told him about that horrible experience I had had. When the test began to hurt, he stopped and went to speak with Dr Barrett. You see, I have a rare disease that causes unimaginable pain and some symptoms are that normal touches and do not normally hurt, cause extreme pain, so you can imagine how that EMG test was painful. Anyway, when the tech left, Dr Barrett came in and said that she was discontinuing the test, because she doesn’t want to cause pain and that she believes she could refer me to an orthopedic surgeon with the bit of information that she was able to obtain from the test. Fast forward almost a year later we went to see her for a follow up and to possibly do another EMG and nerve conduction test. Well, we went to meet with her and her aid called us back and put us in her office. I am in a large electric wheelchair and she was compassionate to my situation and was very accommodating to our circumstances. We had been in a car accident not long before, so I was especially uncomfortable. I’m there for a neurológical appointment, so I was surprised when she asked how I was doing overall. We (my husband and I) began to tell her about nearly a years struggle in getting an MRI. Imaging departments and hospitals kept refusing to do an MRI because of certain medical conditions. Dr. Barrett asked for our permission to try herself to get the MRIs. Being that I need from my head to the end of my spine, Dr. Barrett stated that she’d like to start with getting an MRI of my head. After being frustrated over fighting to get one for so long and dealing with all the rejections from so many departments and hospitals, we felt we would never be able to get the needed test, we discussed the request amongst ourselves and decided to take one last chance. We did receive a couple more rejections, but by a miracle of the Lord and the work of the doctors (Dr Barrett working with pcp) they found a clinic that would do the much needed test. If it weren’t for Dr. Barrett, I would not have been able to get this very critical test. I am grateful to her for her help.”

“I arrived at Dr. Kim's office fully stressed and in a great deal of pain down my whole right leg fearing I had had Deep Pain Thrombosis (DVT). Her diagnosis proved I did not have DVT and that the pain came from the compression on my Sciatic nerve in my right hip. She did a combination of muscle testing and minor adjustments to relieve the pain. The benefit was definitely noticeable, the next day, when I was able to walk freely without pain. She also made modifications to my medications which were definitely required. By comparison I had been so see a Chiropractor, a few days earlier, and the above were not remedied.”
