“Who doesn't love fire engines? This is a fantastic display of fire engines, some going back 100 years. If you ever get to Estes Park, Co. this is a must. They display all kinds of fire trucks, some lovingly restored and others waiting for restoration. Also some classic autos and memorabilia in a separate area.”

“A nice place to visit to get the history of the town. The employees were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to give my wife and I suggestions for what is best to do and see in the area. We used these ideas to do things we normally wouldn’t have done or thought to do.”

“Very pretty. Nice with dappled sunlight.”

“Fun and worth a visit. It's a long drive up a bumpy and washboard road, but no big deal if you have the right vehicle. The road is even passable by car if you take it slow, but I'd recommend turning back at the ghost town since the road gets pretty rough soon after.”

“ Nothing like coming home to spend time on the ranch with the family. So peaceful and relaxing. Had some of Mr. Britton famous sourdough pancakes this morning. Maybe we'll go arrowhead hunting tomorrow, after all these spring storms the hunting should be good :-) Wish us luck!”

“Lots of old farm equipment from the time that Kersey was established.”
Address: 200 N Bridge St, Nederland, CO 80466, USA
“Neat little museum about the mining history around Nederland and Boulder. The best part of the museum is the staff. Don Dick gave us a great tour and history, and he was super knowledgeable and passionate about the topics. The museum is free and interactive, which makes it a fun stopover when you're in the area (and if you're in the area, you must also check out the Carousel of Happiness, which is a piece of art).”

“Great spot! Free, fun, super kid friendly but fascinating for adults, too. You'll find mining, photography, fire fighting, and local history and exhibits. Terrific staff.”
Address: 2350 Riverside Dr, Idaho Springs, CO 80452, USA
“The staff here are very pleasant and knowledgeable. My girls enjoyed the mill tour and especially the gold panning and gem find. Great for families, but I feel it's more appropriate for older kids as the tour is somewhat long and detailed, and not stroller-friendly. Wasn't too busy when we went on a Thursday afternoon. I'd say the pricing is okay, less than $100 for our family of 5.”
Address: 515 Comanche St, Kiowa, CO 80117, USA
“The town's museum is always on my agenda to take visitors to. Not like the big cities museums, but Kiowa and Elbert County have a lot of history to share with visitors and locals alike. See for yourself, you will be pleasantly surprised.”

“I dropped these coordinates to maps so people can find it. It's easy to miss. You can see how WCR 52 was rerouted following the tragedy. Go to the terrain view on maps and you can see it plainly. Not a train travels the tracks anymore and the grade is falling into disrepair. The BN route out of Denver, 30 miles South, replaced it's use when the two combined operations. It's a quiet peaceful place. Visit if you can. God bless the family's that endured life without their children afterwards.”
