We stopped on our way to Maryland via Danbury. And we were so pleased! We had a delicious leisurely lunch, the perfect break in the middle of 8 hours on the road. My fish and chips were perfect... And I want to call out a little bowl of house made pickles nestled next to the Cole slaw. My partner's burger was just the way he likes it, and he commended the sweet potato fries. We would happily stop again next.time we pass through.
Updated review:
this place is tucked away that even though I am on Mill Plain Rd all the time i never noticed. We came here on a sunday. it’s quiet and comfortable. I love the rustic chic decor. Servers and the host were very friendly and attentive. I had the corn chowder and toasted almond french toast. Chowder was delicious, just right amount of cream and not overly salty. It’s loaded with real corn and potatoes. French toast was garnished with crunchy granola and juicy cherries which I found appealing. The plating was beautiful. However, it was too mushy and sweet to my taste. my friend had the Impossible burger on a sourdough but it was a “sour-faux”, not a real sourdough bread. overall we liked the ambiance and the services, we would try other items on the menu next time.
Second visit:
We came back for dinner on a Friday night. We saw many tables ordering Farm to Table so we followed suit. It’s a big plate piled with dried prosciutto, deep fried Brussels sprouts and drizzled with fig jam, topped with pistachios and burrata. Absolutely delicious. We also ordered the 8-hour Korean short ribs, which is tender and flavorful. And the farmers salad came with strawberries and goat cheese, which was a great pairing. All three dishes were wonderful by itself but we felt that eating them together was too much sweetness for a meal.
Stayed at a local hotel off 84 while making our way home from a week in Maine.
Hotel provided a list of dining options we selected the Market Place.
The food was delicious and the staff friendly yet professional. We sat outside on a lovely evening in late July.
The iced tea is really good, unsweetened like we prefer.
We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps as an appetizer (pictured), think Moo Shu flavors except with lettuce leaves instead of pancakes. The chicken and the sauces were both flavorful.
I had the basic burger which was big and juicy. Fully loaded, it too a second or two to attack it. Tasty burger, shoestring fries perfectly cooked.
Wonderful experience overall.
Had my bridal shower here and had a wonderful time. Lexic, who was in charge of the event, was helpful and gave us flexibility with all our decor (which was key for me)! We had plenty of space since we were also offered the smaller space next to the event room and the food was great. I recommend if you’re thinking about planning an event here!
An excellent lunch experience! The Nantucket Blueberry Lemonade was a light and refreshing cocktail, and the Deviled Eggs were great for sharing. I would highly recommend the Beef Short Rib Focaccia sandwich. The vegan and gluten-free options are so inclusive. A+
