(November 26, 2018, 10:05 am)It has finally happened. My 17.5 year old Wheaten Terrier "Louis" has used up all of his nine lives. If we hadn't bumped into Scott Schifilliti, of NVS, who saved Louis by recommending the Best Surgeon ever Dr. Deb Weisman to repair his torn ACL & meniscus...he wouldn't have enjoyed the long, happy and pain-free life that he had. He happened to tear his other ACL 5 weeks after his surgery, and he was walking within a day of repair.
After the knees, there was the middle of the night rodent poison incident. NVS was there to pump both of my pups stomachs and save their lives.
Last February, Louis had an impossible to remove sarcoma on his shoulder. Dr. Deb came through again and removed the tumor in it's entirety.
Just this past Labor day weekend, Louis developed diarrhea like I had never seen before. I truly thought that was the end. The Emergency doctors pulled Louis back from near death.
I am truly grateful for the quality and longevity that all of the excellent doctors and staff at NVS gave to Louis. I am so happy that Lou had a few more happy adventures since Labor Day. Every extra day that I had with him was a gift.
I cannot recommend NVS highly enough. The care is Excellent, the facility is state of the art, everyone that works there truly cares and loves animals. My only disappointment is that they do not treat humans. I would trust them with my life. -

(November 5, 2018, 10:21 am)Our Pitbull, Slate, had a blockage. We visited our regular vet, who did 2 x-rays and suggested we find a practice that will administer an ultrasound. It was Saturday afternoon. We went to NVS and were immediately seen by Dr. Ravich; he was very kind and gentle with Slate. He did a 'basic' ultrasound and was able to determine that Slate not only had a foreign object in his stomach, he also had a tumor on his bladder. This was a total shock to us. Dr. Headrick (surgeon) came in to speak with us and he was just the kindest person. He eased any of our worries, was extremely professional, and explained every little detail. He went above and beyond for Slate, truly. I would not hesitate going back to NVS for an emergency. With that being said, this is an emergency veterinary practice EMERGENCY. They are expensive, but all emergency practices are. Again - the prices are not comparable to your regular vet. For an emergency situation - highly recommend.

(October 16, 2018, 2:29 pm)We had a very scary experience with our Lhasa Apso this past weekend. Newtown Veterinary Specialists did an amazing job with our furry friend! Our dog friend happens to be a bit aggressive, and they handled him with kind hands, love, and patience. He returned home after being there for four days. Thank you for being knowledgeable and genuine. If another emergency would ever present itself, we know exactly where we're going. Millions of thanks for doing such an important job!

(September 4, 2018, 12:15 pm)When our Golden Retriever, swallowed a 5 inch cooked pork rib bone. I was aghast. I called Newtown Veterinary Specialists. There was some consensus that the dog's stomach could dissolve the bone. We could have easily been taken advantage of. We talked on the phone at least three times over the 5 day period waiting for things to get back to normal. Newtown Veterinary Specialists answered all our questions. They told us what to do, what to feed him, what signs to watch out for. If your pet is in trouble and you want honesty and integrity, ...this is the first place to call. If they say they need to see your pet, ...you can trust it's an emergency and you need to go.
