Beautiful space to experience art. Went to see weaver artist Helena Hernmarck, specifically, and was very impressed with the whole place.
Great exhibits, I met a master Weaver and walked on a bunch of white chalk!
We attended the opening of Helena Hernmarck's exhibit of weavings - amazing and wonderful!
Excellent museum with some engaging exhibits. It's larger than you guess, and their collections run the gamut, as you'd expect from a good contemporary art museum.
Unfortunately, it's also fairly expensive, at $20/person (it's not MOMA). And there's a bit of the uptight, conservative culture of Connecticut wealth. Which is surprising for a contemporary art museum. But overall well with a visit.
It is a wonderful museum and easy to navigate within a couple hours. I like that they a variety of art workshops every month and work with living artists. I don't always understand contemporary, but the docents are generally quite knowledgeable. I wish we were able to take photos in all the galleries, especially with the piece of the Berlin wall as I have never been to Germany.
There is free parking right next door.
