Dr. Alex Gitelman

Dr Gitelman is a gift from God. I was referred to Dr. Gitelman for my microdiscectomy surgery. He told me the surgery would alleviate my back and sciatic pain and that is the truth! I was not able to walk, bend, sit, lay down, anything you can imagine. Even eating was a challenge. Now, post surgery, I am fully restored and pain free. I am eternally grateful and thankful for Dr Gitelman and the medical staff who restored me back to health.

Dr Alex Gitelman is wonderful, knowledgeable, kind and caring person. He is smart Doctor. I am very very happy after my spine surgery. I strongly recommend his name to everyone.

Long overdue review. 5.0 is not enough. He is caring, and considerate He speaks so a layman can clearly understand I was rear ended and had immediate discomfort, which worsened in a few days. I read his reviews, which are perfect. I was leaning to one side, holding onto walls as I walked, and started to lose bowel control. I went to Dr. Gitelman for examination. I had herniated several disks in my neck. He immediately scheduled me for surgery. I had a 4 level fusion, which is quite rare. In my research, I learned there was a very good chance of long term permanent damage, including loss of use of my arm, and not being able to turn my neck, which may have ended my ability to drive Long story short, it was a slow and long recovery, but I regained 99% of use and only have slight discomfort in my neck and shoulders. I was so lucky I read reviews. He is also very conservative and only performs surgery as a last resort.
Earlier this year, I was in severe pain With low back pain. I had 2 prior low back fusions and prior surgeon at Lenox Hill said I would likely need to go up another level up in future. Dr. Gitelman sent me to PT and recommended I consider a knee. replacement prior to considering another back fusion. I had knee replacement yesterday, and it was a reminder that I never gave a review

Dr. Gitelman is the absolute Best. You can trust him with your life.

Dr. Gitelman is so kind and caring and an excellent surgeon.. Listened to everything I said. He returned every email I sent him when I could not get through to the office. But most of all he rid me of excruciating pain. I am forever grateful. I definitely would recommend him.

Dr. Gitelman is the best. I was in so much pain and his spine surgery for me was the best decision I ever made. He let me make the decision wasn’t pushy, listen to my concerns. I can’t say enough about him! Great doctor!
