Tony is great. We were told by another place that we needed over $3K of front end work. He looked at it, drove it and said it was safe, the struts were perfectly fine nothing was cracked or broken and that we needed tires and an alignment. We got all of the other maintenance work done there as well. So refreshing to find an honest and nice mechanic that did not try to take advantage of me. I will recommend Tony to everyone and will use Shippan Auto Repair and Tommy for ALL of my car needs.
HANSEL is my car guy, forever. I am a lifelong stamford resident. I’ve had a lot of vehicles and been to lots of mechanics. I will never look for another mechanic until Hansel retires. In 25 years he’s the only guy I trust him 100%. He’s open and honest about the work and I don’t want to feel like I was ever overcharged. If this is the type of mechanic that Chopin auto repair hires then I can safely say that this is one of the best repair shops in the area.
I would highly recommend this shippan auto repair shop to anyone. They do great work at a very fair price. You know when you take your care to dare that they are not just going to tell you there are a bunch of things that need to be fixed just to make money. They give you an honest evaluation and they don’t try to up sell you. If you need your car repaired and you don’t want to be taken advantage of at the dealer, this is the place . Ask for Hansell one of the technicians there very reliable and honest person.
Tony is knowledgeable, reasonable, and looked out for our best interests financially. My wife and I will continue to take our cars here for needed repairs. Being new to Stamford and being from the mid-west, we were unsure if we would find a reasonable and trusted mechanic. But a friend referred us to Shippan auto repair and it has been a great experience!
Tony was great! My driver side window was stuck all the way down but with a snow storm coming, among other reasons not to keep your car window rolled down when the car is unattended, I definitely needed it fixed ASAP. I called ahead, the shop was closing in one hour but Tony fit me in. Timeframe was quick and pricing fair. Will definitely go back but hopefully won't have to for a while!
