Scenic Brandywine landscape, mileage of trails, streams, historical references older than William Penn and U.S.A. founding fathers. Creates this National Park as a must-see and local treasure!

The only thing keeping me from giving this park a 5 is the lack of trail markers. There are a ton of trails and many show up on GOOGLE Maps but not all and if you don't want to use GPS it would be easy to get lost. More parking would also be helpful as there are few lots around here.
There is a great diversity of plant life on these trails which attracts a lot of animals. It is very easy to spot hawks flyong overhead and other birds sitting on farm fences and flying around. Several times I ended up spooking deer that were in the fields. Butterflies are abundant around the wild flowers that grow at the edges of fields and woods.
The Woodland property part of this park has 880 acres in Delaware and another 230 acres in Pennsylvania that runs along the Brandywine River. The propety runs through wood, across streams and by farms.

The Conservation Fund purchased and protected the historic 1,100-acre Woodlawn property in 2012 and with great support donated the land to the National Park Service creating the Delawares first National Park (the only state that lacked a National Park.

Endless tranquil beauty along hundreds of paths, dozens of picnic places and many spectacular view sheds. Good citizens bring a bag and pick up what others left behind, but most people here are conscience. Early mornings are my favorite time to visit and remember what it was once like when we lived well with all living things, and to refresh the way home.
