Well maintained estate owned by prominent Washington heiress. -

(December 16, 2018, 6:22 am)A gem. Don't miss it. Admission is high, but worth it. The house is filled with exquisite Faberge jeweled tokens the last czar of Russia gave his mother and wife. There are paintings, furniture, jewels, china and glassware from Russia and France which will dazzle anyone who loves beauty. The grounds, gardens and outbuildings are a delight. If you feel cooped up in your tiny condo, go see how the other half lived for awhile.

(November 15, 2018, 5:38 pm)If you need any help deciding what going big looks like, this is the place. Everything has a purpose and is perfected. Take the audio tour. It's so informative but at the same time ask the security guards for info. They know some great secrets. (Ask about the snooze room).

(November 8, 2018, 8:04 am)A nice escape from the bustle of the city. The restaurant looked nice but we were with kids so we used the food stand in front of the restaurant. Not only food was cold but the guy preparing it would assume tip when he tells you the total or won't return change if the kids lined up to buy something. No Hillwood, tip is voluntary and placing a tip jar might make this easier on him.

(November 4, 2018, 8:49 pm)Hillwood Estate, Museum, and Gardens is a lovely escape from our every day lives. The gardens are sublime and each feel like their own little world that you can gaze upon. The collection of art and the lavish rooms of the mansion really took me back in time. Staff at Hillwood are informative, warm, and know how to treat their guests right.
To top everything off, I proposed to my fiance at the south entrance of the mansion, facing rock creek and the Washington Monument off in the distance. The day was going to be perfect, but it took our special day out beyond the stratosphere. Thank you for keeping this place so lovely.
I highly recommend Hillwood, as it has something for everyone!
