  I didn't realize just how large the memorial is until I saw it in person. The other parts of architecture around it were even more interesting to me as a lot of films leaves out the beautiful ceiling and wall murals. Even just the pillars inside and steps leading up are impressive to look at.

  If you are in Washington, D.C., you should try to make time to visit this amazing monument. The statue itself is impressive, but be sure to take in the passages etched in the interior walls from some of Lincoln's most important speeches. And as you leave, you'll want to spend a few moments appreciating the view out over the reflecting pool to the WWII Memorial and the Washington Monument. It's truly a breathtaking site, especially if you go at night.

  This is the most popular tourist location. You can sit on the steps along with other tourist as they look out at how the view of the monument and other memorials come together to make an extraordinary sight. I love running to this memorial in the morning also because it has great lighting. Also you might get to see a few dance battles depending on the time of day. You just get the feeling that you are experiencing history and it is fulfilling.

  This was on my "Must see in DC" list, for obvious reasons. Civil Rights Icon, historic figure & monument. Standing next to the actual Lincoln Memorial is surreal. It makes you feel small, literally & figuratively, because the marble monument, much like the man himself, is ginormous. Awe-inspiring, leave with your jaw open AWESOME. The Lincoln Memorial is a great place to witness history. Beautiful Statue of our Former President Lincoln sitting in his chair. There was a nice place to eat at as well. The whole experience was good to me.

  The whole memorial is done well. The architecture and the statue are amazing to see. Inside of the memorial is not overly done up, but its simplicity aids in conveying the importance of what the memorial stands for. Great views from the steps back towards the Washington Monument and the rooms downstairs are great to see if you enjoy learning about the history of the monument. Inspiring.
