  Awesome as always. I never regret going on a trip with Holland America, the staff is friendly and helpful, and I always know they're excited to see me and my tour group arrive.

  It's been a while since I cruised and the changes are not for the better. This is the first time I have cruised with HAL. A veteran of HAL cruises told us not to judge HAL by this cruise alone. They have had better experiences in the past. For the most part the food was good but not great. Definitely a step down from past cruises I have been on. Seems like they are trying to drive people to the specialty restaurants. In gala nights where the food was upgraded, I could only get one entree protein unless I wanted to pay an additional 10 dollars. Entertainment was also somewhat disappointing. The magician and comic were very good and the last night's singer was very entertaining. Other than the fabulous blues band in the BB King club, the other major entertainment was lacking. On the bright side, the service is excellent! I loved every one I met from waiters to bar staff to cabin stewards.

  Best parts of the cruise were Half Moon Cay, Lincoln Center Stage, BB Kings, and the food. The housekeeping and dining services were superb. Guest Services was only marginally helpful and gave inaccurate info (or simply had no answer) more than once. The Nieuw Amsterdam is a nice ship overall, but it doesn't have the large saunas and topside recreation deck we've enjoyed on other ships. I expect we'll sail with HAL again sometime.

  Had a very enjoyable time with my family. A VERY helpful crew. The food was also very good and well prepared every time wether it be at the buffet for breakfast, lunch, or dinner or sitting down for service. Many activities as well, lots of music activities. Many older people are on the cruise so there are little to no kids, which in my opinion is very nice and relaxing. It has 4 hot tubs, 2 pools, a basketball court, a huge spa area, shuffle boards, a game room with multiple games to play, many bars (obviously), a buffet, 2 dining rooms, a theater, many outdoor decks, a Crow's nest (an Outlook area inside), and many other little areas to chill out in. Our room service was great. 2 times a day, right before noon and at 8 pm. Always had a clean and stocked room. They have happy hour at 4 pm and 9:30 pm. I really enjoyed my time with my family on this cruise line and will be definitely using this line again in the near future. I highly recommend for couples that don't want to be around kids that much on vacation!
