I was just dropping my son off to the Southwest Airlines terminal at 4 pm today June 16, 2022 when an incident occurred with a BSO officer. As I was dropping my son off an ambulance needed to come in and I was trying to get out of the way as you should to make room for the ambulance. One BSO lady officer was waving me forward while a BSO man was telling me to back up.
I was already backing up to get out of the way of the ambulance and the very rude man BSO don't have a name or badge number was trying to give me different directions. I put my hands up to try and find out which they wanted ? Back up or go forward to get out of the way.
The officer banged on my car so I stopped and opened my window at which point he said I was rude and he didn't have time for nasty comment.
I told him I hadn't even spoken and he told me my hand gesture indicated I was being rude. He then told me " I hope one of your family members never need an ambulance" " asked me what do you do when an ambulance is coming?" I answered " get out of the way" and told him that's what I was doing. I told him he upset me and I didn't know how I was going to get home" he asked why? I told him he upset me and that I wasn't doing anything wrong. He asked me if I needed fire rescue ? I told him no. Then he asked who was I waiting for? I told him no one I just dropped my son off. He then said I hope you have a good day.

He was condescending and rude. And perhaps some better training and people skills would help.

    addendum

Thank you to LT Jon Commella that took the time to review my incident and listened to my concern. I greatly appreciate the response.

On February 16, late afternoon,my wife and I arrived at Terminal 2, FLL, from Toronto We had previously booked accommodation at the Airport Day's Inn'. A black van (with NO hotel logo, but still apparently a Day's Inn shuttle) pulled in and we made to climb aboard. The driver asked us for the hotel address. This was NOT shown on our hotel confirmation and with NO contact phone # and we had naturally assumed there was only ONE airport Day's Inn. The driver wouldn't let us on. We then found out to our surprise that there were actually FOUR so-called 'Airport Day's Inns' in the Fort Lauderdale area! We raced (?) - we're both handicapped seniors - with our luggage cart back and forth along the concourse trying a couple more Day's Inn shuttle buses, but with met with the same problem.
Finally. in desperation, I approached Officer S. Aydogar of the BCSO, who immediately spared no efforts to get us where we wanted to go. He kindly spoke to someone at the Ground Transportation desk and with his help and various phone-calls he finally established that our Day's Inn hotel was the one in W. Broward Blvd. Officer Aydogar spent a full hour - partly in the rain - with us until he was happy that we were finally on the RIGHT hotel shuttle bus and on our way to the RIGHT hotel.
We cannot speak too highly of, or thank this gentleman enough! The Broward County Sheriff's Office and the Fort Lauderdale community are most fortunate to have such a concerned and dedicated public servant as Officer Aydogar!

I got lost twice returning my rental car inside the Ft lauderdale airport. The officer saw me twice pulled over trying to get my GPS to get me to the rental return center. Seeing that I was stressed out bc of being in a hurry to catch my flight he just laughed with me and said “follow me”. He turned his flashing lights on and escorted me directly to the door to the rental return. He could’ve just blew me off but he did the right thing and helped a guy out that he didn’t even know. I didn’t get his name but I’d like to say “Thank You” !!
