“My 3 yr old has only been going to this school for 2 months now and I was able to immediately tell the difference in her knowledge in just about two weeks. She’s learning so much at this school. She gets up before me some mornings and she’s ready to go to school. Every day she tells me how today is going to be the best day ever! She also talks about how much she loves her teacher. There are 3 ladies at the front, whose names I can’t seem to remember, except Ms Terry, that are extremely nice and welcoming. 10/10 recommend”

“This school is amazing. My daughter has been there since she was 12 weeks old. She is in the toddler 1 class and she is smart, attentive, pays attention and acts like an older child. Green Children's house has the best teachers and the best curriculum. My daughter surpasses children her age because of everything she learns at school. I feel comfortable leaving my daughter at school and I trust the teachers and the staff. I have separation anxiety so knowing I can look in on her anytime I want with the cameras is priceless. I am so thankful to the school, the teachers and the staff for helping me raise my daughter and for giving her the love and support she needs. Sending my daughter to this school is by far one of the best decisions I have ever made.”

“Dave Thomas Educational Center was a hundred times better than I expected it to be. My sons transferred from Monarch & Boyd Anderson High Schools. Neither was stupid but they just didn't care very much for school. At Dave Thomas they were able to work at their own pace to meet their graduation requirements. One has finished in one is still attending. As a matter of fact I am sitting at graduation rehearsal for one of my sons right now. As far as this being a teaching school, NO it is not a teaching school per se. It's more like if you want it Come & Get It because we're not here to teach you but we will give you the work you need to move forward. The non teaching factor was the biggest disappointment at Dave Thomas Educational Center. Otherwise, the staff is warm and engaging. They take the time to help the parents as well as the students. As a teacher, I can clearly see that the staff genuinely cares about their students. Anyone saying differently, must have come with the wrong attitude from jump. The communication is excellent. They're a little bit over-the-top with making students pay $5 for ID cards every single time they forget it even though they know that these students come to school every single day. There should be a better system in place for those who forget their ID cards but attend school on a regular basis. It is a rip-off and it is unfair to the students as well as the parents. Many days we are rushing out and forgot the stupid ID card and didn't always have $5 to give up to purchase yet another ID card. It often resulted in us turning around and going back home to drop the boys off which was a big waste of time, energy, gas and valuable "instruction" time as well as making me late for work and causing them to miss a day of school. But other than that issue of robbing the students and their parents of the multiple $5.00, the school is what it's supposed to be. It is an alternative school setting to get students back on course towards a rapid graduation. The students are well-behaved and respectful. The campus was well-run and more or less organized. I would recommend more trips and activities for the students because the best learning doesn't take place in a classroom it takes place going places and visiting sites that you would not normally go visit. I would not hesitate to send my students here nor any other children of mine here for the middle school or for the high school. On a scale of 1 to 5 I would give it an easy 4 which is approximately 80% or a B. Signed by a mother who also happens to be a seasoned teacher. V. J. WILSON”

“I literally just finished my last course and received my certificate for the CRRA certification. Joshua was extremely patient and helpful when I called to obtain information and was supportive. Initially I did not like the essay questions included in each module By the second class I started noticing issues at our program that were relevant to course work. The essays combined with the multiple choice questions are a wonderful learning tool. I would definitely recommend The Academy For Addiction Professionals certification for anyone pursuing a CRRA certification.”

“My neighbor's nephew recently joined this school. He switched from a school in east Broward and he reports that "there is no bullying at my new school. The students are cool. They don't make you feel bad if you look different." The nephew has had some issues at other schools with students who called him names. He says, "I really like this school. There is something about the place that makes me feel good." (He has a general lack of interest in adding details to his writing and his verbal descriptions tend to lack specific info... but he's happy with the new school.) He also points out "the students don't make you feel bad if you have different ideas."”

“They always say this school is horrible at first glance, you know, usual stereotypes of the races that make up the majority of this school, dirty bathrooms, nasty hallway fights and etc. Well guess what? You can't judge a book by its cover. Those dirty bathrooms have heard dreams of students and the sometimes panicked expressions of kids trying to skip class. Those fights happen in every other school no matter what grade they wave up. Lakes is not a bad school if you get to spend some time here. My third year here and I am in 8th grade for the school year 2017-18 and I'm gonna miss this school 😭”

“Best summer camp ever!! . My daughter went to this camp for 10 years. Loved it! Great place for performing arts but has many other activities as well as performing a full show at the end of each session.
