  Like everyone else has said, this is a great CG right where the St. John's River dumps into the ocean. We tried for many months to get a spot for March, but only had success for a single night about a month out. We were on the row closest to the river, so it was slightly higher at $34/night. If you can get in there, do it!

  Beautiful military campground. There are some waterfront lots, but even if you don't get the waterfront, second row back you still get somewhat of a view of the water and palm trees, and slight view third row back. You can make reservations at this base... it doesn't mean you will get the campsite you wanted, but at least it is better than some bases where there is a first-come-first-serve only rule.

  We spent a beautiful night here in January, 2022
  This was our first experience at this base.
  It’s my favorite base campsite of all the ones we’ve been to so far in Florida.
  We set our tent up facing the water and the sunset was sublime.
  Clean facilities and friendly folks all around us.
  You can’t beat the views here, we love seeing all the ships in distance. Big tankers and other large ships passing by ensure it is never boring.
  We shall return!

  Day 2 of 14, amazing place. Clean, updated facilities throughout. Office staff (Ginger and counterpart)and host (Cathy?) are extremely friendly and helpful. Location is right on the inlet with beautiful views of the ocean and ships coming in and out. Beach is private clean and a 5-minute walk away. It's the best out of the 25 or so military campground I've stayed at.

  Very clean, small campground on Mayport Naval Station. Noisy with all the activity going on but we enjoyed it. Short walk to a stunning beach.
  Restrooms. Laundry facility. Community room. Fire pits are not provided, but several people brought their own.
