Jacksonville VA Clinic

Im new to Florida and came with a lot of medical issues. The employees here have been doing their best to expedite me being seen by a provider. They are very accommodating and actually listen to me. However, like any VA it gets pretty busy and you can experience long waits. Overall im satisfied with what i have seen so far.

I had a dental emergency that the dental clinic at Jacksonville was unable to handle. They referred me to a oral surgeon at the Beach. However when I called to make the appointment the oral surgeon's office said that they had not received anything. I then called Gainesville Community Care to see if I could expedite the process as it was turning into a dental emergency (swelling, pain). I did get some assistance but was told that my referral needed to be signed by the chief of the dental department. That's when I ran into a roadblock as I was unable to get through to them. I went to see the patient advocate at the Jacksonville outpatient clinic (Winette Cox) to see if she could provide assistance. She was absolutely awesome. She made numerous calls and navigated this referral all the way to the top. I left with an appointment for the next day. I can't thank them enough for their help!
