“My baby cousin was buried in Edgewood Cemetery in 1938. In 1985, my grandmother ordered a marker for her grave. To my knowledge, nobody in the family bothered to go to the grave. I set out recently to find it. I visited the section where the grave was supposed to be but I could not locate the marker. Elizabeth from the office told me that she would see if the cemetery workmen could help locate it. After an initial try, they couldn't find anything. The old cemetery plot maps are very hard to read and not in proper order. Yesterday, Elizabeth, the cemetery foreman James, and his helper, Chris offered to meet me in the area where the grave and marker should've been to search for it. They had metal rod probes, and I came equipped with my pitchfork. They believed the marker may have sunken under the ground. We probed for about 30 minutes with no results, but the staff was determined, and I wasn't ready to give up. Finally, my pitchfork scraped metal. After pulling back the dirt, I had found it! The staff were all as excited as I was. They reset the stone and placed sod around it to make it nice. I was so pleased with their persistence and kindness. I was reassured that this marker would not be forgotten.”

“The physicians, nurses and other staff at WakeMed Brier Creek were exceptional when I was recently treated for a small bowel obstruction, that ultimately required surgery. One staff member, Jimmy, who works in radiology, went above and beyond the call of duty, and my husband and I would like to give special acknowledgement for his kindness and extraordinary effort on our behalf. My husband is an insulin dependent diabetic who had been by my side for hours as I was being diagnosed and treated for what had originally been diagnosed as gastroenteritis at another urgent care facility. We were referred to WakeMed for further examination. Because we are vegetarians, Jimmy went out of his way to get my husband some food in order to prevent him from having a low blood sugar episode. Thank you so very much, Jimmy, we were so grateful for your help at a very difficult time.”

“This morning I got the Breakfast Steak Quesadilla. It was the Best Steak Quesadilla that I've had yet! The inside was cooked perfectly with lots of melted cheese and adequate amounts of eggs and steak. The outside of the tortilla was perfectly toasted and had that great toasted after taste. “We have 5 of the wildcatter racks now. 2 f250s, Ram 3500, Tundra, and a Chevy 2500. We do construction and use them to transport lumber, decking and other materials. We've put thousands of pounds on these racks without a problem. Victor has taken care of all our orders and has been great. The racks come packaged on a pallet that is very secure and safe. It's well worth the cost.”

“Do not be misled by its name. La Salsa Market is a proper Oriental grocery store, replete with seasonal fresh Asian and Hispanic fruits and vegetables, Asian and Middle Eastern pantry staples, an exhaustive selection of bulk-sale ramen noodles, and even a fishmonger's section that features fresh seafood on ice. This market brims with Oriental produce and products, and a first-time visit could be sensory overload for the uninitiated, but the intrepid cook may find just what they are looking for, and at a fair market price. The larger-sized bags of rice are competitively priced, and so are the various types of dried noodles. An especially notable good buy is the Squid brand fish sauce in plastic bottles, and also the 24-pack case of Sapporo Ichiban ramen noodles available in the most popular soup flavours--but unfortunately not chowmein flavour. As frequenters of all good and properly stocked Oriental grocers may know, customer service is not necessarily a focus of these sort of establishments, and La Salsa is no exception. The customer service, while generally pleasant and cheerful, can be unintentionally brusque. For quality Asian ingredients at competitive prices, La Salsa Market is Jacksonville's local gem.”
