On Watch Yacht Delivery & Training

Captain Jeff re-positioned our Bruckmann Abaco 47 "East by South" from Palm Beach, FL to Branford, CT, from June 26 to July 2, 2021. He is an ex-Coast-Guards officer, a licensed captain, & very experienced in moving vessels up and down the East Coast of the U.S. (and elsewhere including the Bahamas). His training and experience were evident in his voyage planning and handling of the boat. His inspection of the boat's equipment & systems before the voyage was thorough but quick. He moved the boat in 7 days, slightly ahead of promised delivery, despite some poor weather conditions, so as to stay ahead of the remnants of a tropical storm moving up the East Coast. He left the boat in pristine condition. Although the boat is equipped with a safety & satellite tracking/communication equipment, he provided his own equipment so as not to disturb the setup of our equipment. We were able to track the vessel on line as he progressed, and he sent SMS texts to advise us of his progress. He did use our on-board navigation equipment (Garmin MFDs, etc.), and used them knowledgeably. Capt. Jeff is very professional, evidently very experienced, and easy to get along with; in short, ideal for our situation. We will definitely engage him again when we need to move the boat.

Captain Jim Deyo helped us deliver our FP Astrea 42 from NC to NY and I could not have been happier with the service.

During the delivery he gave tracking information and was always in communication with me via satellite phone. After the delivery he gave a detailed technical analysis of the boat. And best of all the boat was delivered cleaner then I had left it.

My wife and I had the good fortune to once again sail our Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40, Harbour Lights, South from Annapolis, MD to Port Canaveral, Florida with Captain Jeff Lewis, our second delivery trip with Captain Lewis. We sailed almost non-stop from Annapolis to Port Canaveral (only stopping for a 30 minute fuel stop near Cape Fear N.C.) and made the 835 track mile trip in a quick 5 1/5 days, beating the arrival of a strong south wind. My wife and I are partners in an LLC and charter our cattermaran Cruise Annapolis in summer and Cruise Abaco in the winter.

Captain Lewis' exceptional seamanship, honed through 45+ years of sailing, racing and delivery experience, kept the boat moving quickly and safely, and ahead of a front that would have delayed our arrival by 3 days and cost us a 10 day charter from FL to the Bahamas.

When we told our insurance company and the owner of the Charter company who our delivery Captain was, they both said the same thing.

"Captain Jeff Lewis....you're lucky to get him, he's the best there is."

We couldn't agree more.

Captain Jeff was an amazing instructor, my wife and I spend a full day on our new boat, we had very little experience, he took us through all the basics, practicing slow maneuvers, docking, anchoring, and most importantly building our confidence. What a great instructor he is, thanks to him my family can now enjoy our boat in a safe manner. Thanks captain Jeff, you have really made boating a great experience for us!!

If you're looking for a great instructor and/or someone to help move your boat, I highly recommend Captain Jeff Lewis. He helped us move our boat from Fort Lauderdale to St. Pete, and we also hired him to come back and give us docking, sailing, and safety lessons. He is an amazing teacher!
