My father and I did a full day Everglades Slog and Kayak with Garl and it was a unique and worthy experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering it. Garl himself is extremely passionate, knowledgeable, and insightful about the Everglades and really brought a lot to the experience. He was constantly informative and is willing to tailor the experience to your interests.
The slog to a alligator hole and nest was something I would have never considered doing myself and we learned a lot about the flora and fauna of the Everglades. We saw tons of wildlife on the kayaking portion of the trip to include numerous birds, manatees, sawfish, and sharks. The crocodiles were a bit elusive but we did get to see one towards the end. Overall a good day we we got a workout in on the kayaks as well
Mike was our tour guide and he was awesome! He is so knowledgeable about the plants and animals that live there and pointed out things that we never would have noticed on our own. He took his time with us and made sure we got to see as much wildlife as possible. Definitely a fantastic way to explore the Everglades and worth every penny.
I can't explain how good this was. Mike was calm and knowledgeable. It was a truly fantastic outing. He showed us and explained things to us things that we wouldn't found on our own. It was an amazing once in a life time experience. My wife is still talking about it.
Had a great full-day tour with Mike as our guide. It was like being in a nature documentary straight out of National Geographic.
We saw tons of animals and plants, truly in the wild, and learned so much about the ecology and history of the park throughout the day. Mike was an extremely knowledgeable and fun guide, more than happy to answer all of our questions, and he constantly spotted animals and plants that would've gone totally unseen had we been there alone. And make no mistake -- I don't think we could've done any part of this day on our own; it mostly consisted of random stop-off points to walk into the wilderness where Mike knew about certain ecological features and high likelihood to see animals.
We saw gators, a crocodile, osprey, manatees, brown snakes, a soft-shell turtle, tons of lizards, air plants, and lots of fish. 100% recommend if you want to experience the true nature of the Everglades - just be prepared to get a bit dirty while doing it, but there's truly no way to really get out and experience the nature of the Everglades without doing so!
Oh, and Mike took tons of photos with his camera + telescopic lens that he sent to us (for free) so we walked away with super high quality pics to remember the experience by. Can't recommend this tour enough if you have a sense of adventure and are excited by nature!
My Husband and I visited the Everglades in early May and had Mike as our tour guide. The tour was an entire day and it was so much fun! Mike was beyond knowledgeable about the Everglades and animal life. He taught us so much throughout the day and truly made the experience unforgettable. We highly recommend Garl’s costal kayaking for your trip to the Everglades!
