I went there on July 2, 2020. Nice area. Nearby is Miami City Hall. To get to the library you can take the Miami Trolley Brickell route and get off at Miami City Hall and then walk west on S Bayshore Drive to McFarlane Rd. Make a right and the library is on the right.
You can also take the 22 bus to S Bayshore Drive and Pan American Drive.
This is a small, cozy library, with great reading areas! When I arrived, I noticed they had a book sale going on, and I immediately saw, and grabbed, two titles I'd been wanting to buy for several months now -- "Peter and the Starcatchers", and "Peter and the Shadow Thieves", both co-authored by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. These are retellings of "Peter Pan", one of my favorite childhood fairy tales! I couldn't believe it! The library was selling hardcovers for $2.00 each, and I wanted both books, but only had exactly $2.00 in change. That's because I haven't used real money to pay for stuff in the loooongest time; I use my credit card for EVERYTHING, and I buy mostly online. But at these library book sales, you gotta pay cash. They won't take credit cards. Fortunately, a very nice librarian there told me it was okay, that she would take my $2.00 in quarters, dimes, and nickels, for BOTH books!! THAT absolutely made my day, and I told her so! I mean, these were BRAND NEW hardcovers! They didn't look used AT ALL!! And they were each signed, too!! "Starcatchers" was signed only by Dave Barry, while "Shadow Thieves" was signed by both Barry and Pearson. I could NOT believe my good luck! I mean, these books were just sitting in that library, waiting for me to come along and snap them up! And, thanks to that nice librarian, who understands how a bookworm feels when coming across such unexpected good fortune, I was able to get not one, but BOTH books!!! I paid for them, found a comfortable seat right near a wall outlet so I could keep my cell phone charged, and settled jn to begin reading "Starcatchers" I spent a couple of hours reading. When I started getting a little hungry, I walked around looking for a restaurant. I finally found one, had lunch there, walked back to the library, and spent a few more happy hours reading! By the way, they have several wall outlets conveniently located throughout the reading area, so you can take your laptop and hook it up. They also have library computers. So yeah, I'll be back to this library in the future!!
Wonderful Place
Krystle is the only person that has librarian knowledge. Please give her help in this branch. She make the experience much easier for parents
