  Being a first time mother in itself was quite overwhelming and exciting all at once. I knew I wanted to breastfeed before I gave birth to my daughter, and met with Amy from lactation consultants of central Florida. In that first meeting she gave me the full run down on what to expect, different breastfeeding holds, and resources on breastfeeding. Even though I thought I was prepared, after I gave birth, breastfeeding proved to be much more difficult! Amy was there every step of the way, and partnered with our family to ensure we were successful at breastfeeding. I can honestly say that without Amy, I would not have made it to fully breastfeeding as we are now. My family and I felt the pressure of formula feeding, and we would have just resorted to that if we didn’t have the guidance and help of Amy. She was very knowledgeable and educated, which made it easier for us to trust her. Our doctors also knew of the great work of lactation consultants of central Florida, as they had worked with the company and only had positive things to say about them.
  Amy even helped us with putting our now 2 month old daughter on a good sleep schedule, which has been so beneficial. She has made such a difference in our lives and we are so thankful for her.
  Amy always came to our home with a smile, positive attitude, and an action plan to ensure our success. She was always timely, super responsive, and genuinely cared for our family. She always had a listening ear, and answered all my questions as a first time worried mom. Over time she became more of a friend to me, and I will hold dearly in my heart what she has done for my family! She has been a pleasure to work with and such a blessing in our lives, we highly recommend her.

  Forever grateful for the Lactation Consultants of Central Florida! Amy is one of the most encouraging and kind people I have ever met. She meets you right where you are, is an incredible listener and empowers you in your breastfeeding journey, each step of the way. And you learn so much with her! Her patience and care is such a gift. Thank you, Amy for walking this road with women and families, you are a treasure!

  I can't say enough about Amy and all her help. From the second I met her, she made me feel relaxed and any discouraging feelings I had disappeared. With my first, we were supplementing with formula at 8 weeks and I can happily say my last is now almost 5 months and I believe we will make my goal of 1 year exclusive breast milk. Amy was caring and encouraging and never made me feel anything less than empowered to meet my goal. Working with her is like hanging out with a friend for an hour. As a side note: she was also fantastic with my 2 year old :). I have recommended Amy to several co-workers and have friends, with no children, wanting to work with her. Thank you! I can't wait to text you and tell you we made it 1 year!

  Within minutes of Renea working with me and my son he was latching without a nipple shield or causing me nipple pain. She showed us a simple technique of letting him root to find my nipple and latch on his own. I wish I had called weeks ago. I really want to encourage any mom out there struggling to give them a call. I can't thank Renea enough.

  I CANNOT say enough about Lactation Consultants of Central Florida! Amy is THE REASON why I am still breastfeeding at 8 months - a goal of mine that I didn't think I was going to meet. I had a tough post-labor hospital stay and a rough first few months with my own health issues and a colicky baby, and it was Amy's support that helped me struggle through many many days of wanting to give up. My breastfeeding relationship with my daughter now was worth all of that hard work - I have a special bond with my daughter and I feel so empowered and proud of my own journey. I know that I couldn't have done it without Amy's help and support. First of all, she is highly knowledgeable. As a researcher in my own career, I am always doing my own detailed research about parenting best practices and I value and trust those with a research lens. I have been super impressed with the depth of Amy's knowledge base and the way that she backs up her advice and guidance with research-based techniques and approaches. She also makes a point to answer questions and schedule visits in a very timely manner. Most importantly, Amy makes you feel totally comfortable, no matter where in your breastfeeding journey you might be. At one point, she even took hours to deal with my insurance company when it looked like my visits were not going to be covered. She continues to be a support for me and my daughter in more ways than one. It honestly feels like she is a part of the family! A true blessing for this first time mom! Thanks for all that you've done for my family, Lactation Consultants of Central Florida!
