Amazing site to see.
I love having this aircraft here. I only gave it four stars because I wish the airport management would trim the trees north of the aircraft so more people could see it as they enter the airport. I dare say most folks have no idea it's here when they drive 50 yards from it.
I love when the US Military elects to park a warplane in a public park. It's one thing to see a B-52 flying around, but to be able to get up close and touch it? AMAZING.
It's certainly better than flying it to Davis-Monthan and letting it rot in the Arizona sun - which is the fate of most military aircraft. (If you don't know what this is, find it on Google satellite images, and be AMAZED)
These planes are enormous and it's a miracle they even were able to get airborne. A 15 minute trip to this park will leave you in awe.
I will warn you that there are stinging insects that are now living in this plane, especially in the permanently-open landing gear compartments. Be careful!
Saw these lined up - the long row of "Shark Fin" tails as a boy here in Orlando when we had McCoy AFB. After HS, I worked on H models in South Dakota. Very happy that we have this - the last flying D Model - come to her forever home with us. A nice park to visit!
Totally randomly and unexpectedly happened across this total weird and awesome 'park'...
