  Back in October, I delivered my baby at Boca Regional and before getting discharged one of their amazing Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) came to observe one of our nursing sessions. During the feeding, she noticed how my newborn struggled with a very shallow latch. I was also in excruciating pain. Immediately after she finished nursing, she examined her little mouth and saw an upper lip and posterior tongue tie. As a mother, you could imagine how badly I wanted to help my baby and fix it. I asked for a referral, and she recommended Dr. Craig Lustman over at West Boca Pediatric Dentristy.
  
  We got discharged from Boca Regional on Wednesday and by (that same) Friday, we got an appointment for a consult with Dr. Lustman. After his exam, he explained that both ties were very restrictive, to the point of impeding her from appropriately latching to nurse, and therefore affecting the way she was nourishing. She was only able to feed from a bottle but still, getting a lot of air and therefore getting very fuzy and gassy.
  
  During the consult, the doctor went over the immediate and future effects/implications of having restrictive ties. Which are not only limited to feeding issues (difficulty moving the food around the mouth, reflux and increased gas, etc.) but also could impact the development of speech. Having a restricted tongue, were the range of motion is limited, the clarity/production of sounds can be distorted. After this discussion, we decided to perform the “revision” (surgery) at that time and get it over with.
  
  Dr. Lustman and his assistant, were amazing handling the baby. They were also very sensitive to us, and courtious during the entire process. No question or concern was left unanswered.
  The surgery took less than 10 minutes, and I was able to notice the difference in the latch immediately after the revision. The laser seems to numb the area, and allow the babies to move their tongue and articulators easier right after.
  Before leaving the office, you will get detailed information on how to handle the area of incision. This is the most important part in my opinion, as you need to make sure that the tissues do not re attach. Dr. Lustman will make sure you leave knowing what you need to do, and will be accessible to you during the post operation time. Believe me! when he says he will call to follow up, he will!! Dr. Craig WILL expect for you to keep him in the loop during the process.
  
  Overall, our experience with the entire team at West Boca Pediatric Dentistry and with Dr. Craig Lustman, was exceptional. Having a newborn is very stressful, but having one that is unable to feed takes it to a whole new level. However, I am so grateful to have had amazing support from start (at Hospital) to finish. It is also very important to note, that Dr. Craig in cases where there are breastfeeding issues likes to team up with IBCLC. He encourages an interdisciplinary approach, so that there is well rounded support for the patient, and the outcomes are maximized. I am telling you, I am very pleased with this experience and would recommend Dr. Lustman to anyone that needs a Pediatric Dental Surgeon.

  We have been using Dr. Craig for years and driving from Boca to Plantation to see him and could not be happier to be seeing him now in our backyard in West Boca! He could not be more caring or more amazing with my 2 young girls! The office is clean. The staff is out of this world! If you are looking for a pediatric dentist, look no further! Thank you Dr. Craig for being so amazing!

  What a great experience! Kind, caring and professional from greating, through the treatment and check out process! Answered all my questions and shared a world of knowledge upon request. Very neat and clean environment with handy TV in just the right place for my kids to watch during their cleanings. My children, 12 and 10 years old, were calm and comfortable and even though they both have sensitive teeth, neither one complained! Huge compliment right there!! And their teeth were thoroughly cleaned! Very happy with our visit! Already scheduled our 6 month follow up! Feeling blessed to have found this office!

  They are simply amazing! Everybody from the staff to the dentist are so dedicated and kind. The office is beautifully decorated and there was no waiting time. My 3 year old son had his first dentist visit here and he loved it! I am so happy I found this dentist for my kids. I highly Recomend it.
