  I was expecting to take a long walk on the trail to tire our legs then hop on the paddle board through some mangroves to tire our arms and get to the beach for some relaxation - plan did not go accordingly.
  
  The beach was an absolute pleasure though! Nice labeled vegetarian along the trail to the beach, no crowd to battle for nice spot on the beach, and absolute solitude when you're out there. Definitely welcomes an older crowd.
  
  As for trail walking, don't expect anything large. Google maps make it look like theres a lot to walk but it isn't much at all.
  
  Same goes for the water. On the water, where you cross the bridge, there wasn't anything to see. Not your spot to sight-see in the water. All open water, but it is relaxing. There is a hose to rinse off your boat/board.
  
  A great spot if you just want a picnic table in the shade. Some spots to sit are around the first parking lot upon entering. $5 entry into park.

  I love this place! The beach is beautiful and I've been several times and have never seen it busy. It does take a little walking to get to the beach but it's a beautiful walk and they have a shuttle, if you prefer. They also offer guided nature walks at 10 am every day, which I recommend. I've seen lots of little crabs popping up through holes in the sand here, too!

  Love this place! Was there a couple years ago and got great views of Brown Pelicans, fishing in the lagoon. There's a boardwalk all across the lagoon that's just perfect for photography. If you're patient and need assistance, there's a multiperson golf cart shuttle that runs from one end to the other. At the far end there's a series of ramps and steps, a foot shower and access to the beach. We were there this year in late December and it was windy, very few birds. We did to to the beach though and had a great time! Expect some walking, but like I mentioned there is a shuttle that runs the length of the boardwalk. There's a small science center with Florida wildlife static displays and very knowledgeable volunteers. Also a gift shop with some great animal souvenirs. We took the trail that runs north of the parking lot as well, nice 1/2 mile or so hike. Highly recommend this park.

  What a beautiful place to kayak, explore and spend the day at amazing almost untouched beach. We like to go early and bring breakfast, we kayak out to a little island in the middle of no where and hang out with our dog and have breakfast. We love it! It's like being far into nature but right outside if town. So convenient and wonderful! Friendly staff! Highly recommend for a relaxing day in nature.

We like to go early and bring breakfast, we kayak out to a little island in the middle of no where and hang out with our dog and have breakfast. We love it! It's like being far into nature but right outside if town. So convenient and wonderful! Friendly staff! Highly recommend for a relaxing day in nature!
