(February 10, 2018, 2:49 pm)Okay, he was grumpy at first with me too but his selection of tile and his deep knowledge tells me he's a bit eccentric and in love with his subject if not with his customers. You have to realize you are dealing with an expert and a connoisseur--he doesn't suffer fools gladly as many of them don't.
He has fantastic tile and, if you tell him what you are trying to do, he will make great suggestions. He won't figure it out for you--as he said to me, when he has tried to do that he has found that he gets blamed for customer mistakes--but ask for ideas and you will get them.
As for racist--I did not see anything like that. He was taking advice from one of his Latin workers and was completely friendly and respectful.
But he's probably tired of the B.S. involved in running a business and having to deal with the public. Time to retire!
I hope he does have someone to take over the business--losing this place would be a shame. -

(August 19, 2017, 12:22 pm)I loved this place! The 'grumpy old man that other reviewers have been negatively referring to was an absolute doll of a sweet man to me. I had a million questions and he answered them all, sold me what I needed and loaded it up for me.
