A friend recommended we visit here to see Santa and we are so glad we stopped by. We originally came to just see Santa but enjoyed looking at so many of the other opportunities they had available today. The kids loved looking through the old homes, making ornaments and learning about the history of some of the homes. My kids ages are 12- 1 year old. It was a little hard in the houses to keep the 1 year old entertained but he enjoyed the outside areas.
It was so great to have guides that explained different aspect of the homes and blacksmith area.
We spent a couple hours here and still didn't make it through the whole village. We will be back because my kids definitely enjoyed it.
We will be back to finish our tour as well as venture into the Botanical garden.
We had a family trip to Largo, Fl and looking of things to do we found the botanical garden and the Heritage Village, we were impressed of how well maintain is that area! Everything looks amazing!! We loved it 😍
Enjoy the pictures!!
Everything about this park is nice. I like how Heritage Village now has a connecting walkway to Botanical Gardens. The houses and buildings at Heritage Village are nicely restored and even have that "old smell". The little shop at Heritage Village, while I've never seen it open and don't think it's actually a functioning store, is a cute touch with the signs that say "Hiring .06¢/hr" and the prices of things from back then. The train is pretty neat too. I love how most everything is hands on too. Walking through the Village and the Gardens takes some time. There's a lot to see. This park is really one of my favorites because of the variety of exotic plants, the wildlife, the nature walks on the boardwalk, the vintage homes and the history behind them, the edible garden...so much more...and it's dog friendly and wheelchair accessible.
It was like I took a trip back in time running my history and enjoying a new adventure in my life. Most definitely a great experience and somewhere you can take the family and also teach the kids a little bit of history as well
