Dr. Canizares is the Absolute Best!
I have had shoulder pain for about 5 years, two those severely. Both my complete shoulders are just worn out due to the type of work I have done over the years between Nursing and Hospitality Industries I've worked over about 45 years. I initially saw Dr. Swick (who is awesome too) he treated me with cortisone injections which didn't help much, he then recommended I see Canizares. After a MRI he told me I would be a good candidate for a Total Replacement at that time on my right shoulder . There was to be two possibilities for me because he couldn't tell whether there was anything left of my rotator cuff until he got inside. I ended up having a Total Reverse Shoulder Prosthesis but the kicker was that Canizares was also faced with my allergy to the metal Nickel so he had to find someone who carried a Titanium Free replacement for me...and he found one for me in about two days! I had surgery in April . With this particular type of replacement recovery runs I was told 6 months to a year. He set me up for physical therapy and because I have no pain any longer I follow what the therapist says do home exercises I can reach out in front of me...something I have had not done for more than 3 years!! And now I'm getting better...certain positions I still have pain from having to retrain those muscles but I'm getting better every day. Thank you Dr. Canizares.
Appointment with Dr. Canizares about one year ago after MRI showed rotator cuff tear with radiologist recommending surgery to repair. Dr. Canizares indicated that there was another option that worked for some people - physical therapy for a few months to strengthen muscles around the injury. Since I have had three prior shoulder surgeries for this injury, I decided to try physical therapy first. One year later, I am sleeping well and able to golf again playing nine hole par three courses without pain.

Dr. Canizares appears knowledgeable and highly skilled, but most importantly he knows how to communicate and connect with patients. My teenage daughter, who is a dancer, came to Dr. Canizares to evaluate her knee. After the initial appt. we had a follow up from an MRI. He reviewed the MRI, and then asked us if we had any further questions. He had explained and showed us everything on the MRI in detail, so we were good with the medical aspect of the visit. My daughter then hesitatingly asked him about his medical career path, as she told him she dislikes school but is intrigued by the mechanics of the body and what he does as a surgeon. He sat with her for at least 15 minutes and gave her sound, solid, reasonable advice about pursuing goals in college once she graduates from high school next year. He made her feel so important and gave her a perspective that she highly regarded. With only two office visits, I already have a deep respect for him as he was not only timely and knowledgeable, but he has a strong commitment to his craft, and he passed along some of his infectious enthusiasm to a young lady who needed somebody to give her the encouragement to pursue what interests her instead of disenchanting her on the difficulties of medical school. I highly recommend using Dr. Canizares.
Dr. Canizares is amazing! He took care of my son's football injury which required surgery to repair the bone! He is top notch! My son has recovered and is getting back to sports thanks to the care he received from Dr. Canizares and his staff! I highly recommend Dr. Canizares especially for sports injuries, he is very knowledgeable! ????
I was in a MVA back in January. After I was stabilized, my care was transferred to Dr. Canizares from Dr. Nguyen. Overall, the location is really near to my house. It is walking distance. Front desk people are very helpful and there is no fuss. The waiting time depends on the number of patients every time I come there which is okay. Dr. Canizares can be quite quick to talk but he is very professional and has great bedside manner. I needed a brace and their brace was $800 because I was out of network. Their medical assistants was able to print me of braces they would recommend which could be easily bought online. In regards to prescription refills and paperwork needed, they are very fast to respond back. I would very likely to continue my car with him.
