  Beautiful and peaceful. Great walking trail/boardwalk. As wide as a side walk with dock-style juts into mangrove stands. Very well maintained.

  This is a really awesome place to visit in St Pete if you want a little nature, a little local history and a lot of walking and looking at the sights. Plenty of places to park, completely free. The small history museum has cool exhibits and an 1100 year old canoe. Plenty of places to see the water!

  Beautiful place to visit! They have miles of trails to go on and it is great for pictures (professional or nature-based). There are turtles, butterflies, and other beautiful creatures all over the place! There is also a road with soft pavement where you can long board or roller blade on. The trails extend in all different directions, and there is also a museum located on the premises that will tell you the history behind Weedon. In addition, there is a gift shop and plenty of parking. There are also canoe and kayak rentals on the premises (not part of Weedon but third party) that you can pay to utilize as well. There is a boat ramp at the very end of the park where you can take out a boat, kayak or canoe. Great place for running, hiking or just having fun!

  This morning, I went on a Weedon Walkabout. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around being enlightened of history, fauna, etc by a guide. I grew up in St Petersburg and had never gone on a walk around the trails. There are so many programs and activities to do there, I'm thoroughly impressed.it was absolutely beautiful, especially after understanding the meaning of what a preserve is and does.

  Weedon Island is a great nature walk in a beautiful preserve. The cultural center is informative and wildlife abounds. We saw gopher tortoises, crabs, armadillos, osprey, egrets, ibises, and more while walking the boardwalk and boy scout trail.
  
  There is more walking and preserve than you can fit in a single day, especially if you read all the information plaques and tour the center exhibit.
  
  Note: there are no pets allowed on the preserve to protect the ecology, but apparently many people don't care after the park closes. It's too bad. There are signs posted everywhere and it's on the website and literature.
  
  Beautiful preserve worth a day trip. Just wish there was a pet-friendly area or people honored the environment more, even when no one is looking.
