Life of family, politics, war, government all shared during walking tours on site both first and second floors full of artifacts and variety of sights and sounds to explore.

(May 31, 2019, 10:31 am)This little museum will surprise and delight. It's more than it looks from the outside. Worth the trip. Informative, many artifacts and friendly staff. Worth the trip if you're in town or nearby. A hidden gem in Polk County. Plan to return soon. The research library is wonderful with a great knowledgeable staff. Not to mention the cost for entry is great, free.

More than any amount of logical information I have seen anywhere in this County from Native Americans to History of new Residence to the County. The Library is full of Books and History. It was so amazing and Impressive I was overwhelmed. I really look forward to returning to look into more of the History available for the History of migration to the county associated with my family from Alabama. It's so fascinating to me. Please visit to see for yourself.

(December 18, 2018, 11:05 am)I enjoyed the walk through we took around the area. I just wished there were more African-American exhibits. I am pretty sure there were more African American contributions than were displayed. All and all it was a wonderful exhibit. It is worth a trip if you're in the area or plan on purposefully go in there. I love history always have.
