“I have cancer the chemo was giving me problems with swallowing. I was in Sarasota Memorial Hospital for five days twice in the beginning of the year. I had many test while in SMH and spoke to many GI (Gastroenterologist) Doctors.I had one test that was extremely difficult for me. I had to swallow for a half an hour. I had no saliva because I couldn’t eat or drink for hours in advance. The next day after that test a GI came to my room and told me they ordered the wrong test! She then said oh that’s okay it didn’t show anything wrong? I was shocked and couldn’t believe I had to to endure that test for absolutely nothing! I then had the real test the next day. That test along with an Nasal Endoscopy found nothing wrong. I was then scheduled while I was still in the hospital an endoscopy. That is where I met Doctor Rahal. He told me he saw some closure and since I was still going thur chemo he would wait until my next CT Scan to see what next steps will be taken. After I got home I had an appointment with Doctor Rahal and he scheduled a videofluroscopic test. That test showed that I have problems with my cricopharyngeal muscle. It doesn’t close and function like normal. The chemo was effecting it and making it harder to swallow, hard to produce salvia and choking issues.I was so relived that after being in the hospital and after all those test I finally knew what my swallowing problem is. I am so grateful for Doctor Rahal. Not only is an amazing Doctor is a very compassionate and kind person. He really listens and you can tell he cares. I highly recommend Doctor Rahal for any GI issues you may have.”

“My barber Chai Perez is the Ritz-Carlton 5-star equivalent of hair magic and hair detail. As someone that travels a lot and gets hair cuts in a lot of places, I sadly have received not so great haircuts over the years between CT, AZ, CA, etc. Every time I am in town in Sarasota, FL I know it's going to be a great, peaceful, well done haircut. She is patient and asks clarifying questions just to make sure she is getting the hair and beard right along the process. While it's priced premium, it's worth every penny to have such high quality barbers working at ManCave Waterside. Highly recommended!”

“A few months ago, my sister & I were looking for a new memory care residence to move our mom to. At that time, Poet's Walk had nobody managing the residence and we felt our mom deserved a better quality of care than she was receiving there.. Then, Courtney, the new director, and Nadine, the head of nursing, arrived. It has barely been three months, and there is no longer a reason to move Mom. Courtney and Nadine have cleaned house replacing (and adding) staff where needed, implemented training and orientation for all, created a more targeted activity program, and have built a cleaner, safer and more caring community. Individual needs of residents are being addressed on an ongoing basis, and as the out-of-town daughter of a parent with Dementia, I appreciate the candid, yet empathetic support given to our family. I am "wowed" by the progress and direction of this community. Google will need to add additional star options for Poet's Walk in another few months!!!!”
