(October 27, 2018, 7:48 am)Just past the 3 mile marker the trail is blocked by a gate. The trail no longer continues to the east entrance. I was told that someone bought land that intersects the trail and does not want trespassers. This is very disappointing as the land and quiet solitude beyond the gate is a beautiful thing to behold. Silence is a rare commodity in our hectic, connected world. I wish there were a solution, it's quite a beautiful ride from end to end. It's a nice preserve for wildlife for sure.

(October 18, 2018, 3:47 pm)Long Leaf Pine Preserve is great. The trail is freshly mowed as of today 10/18/18. All of the Volusia County Preserves are great local getaways to see real Florida nature.

(March 21, 2018, 10:04 pm)Very nice trails! Some water but not deep & easy to get thru or around. Lots of deer. A few markers are missing, but there are confidence markers, so no problem with navigation.
