“I'm not one to make assumptions or jump to conclusions so when the principal left, I got involved...very involved. I served on the parent board, volunteered in the classroom, lunch room, media center, chapel. You name it & I was in it up to my ears & I discovered that this is a solid school that continues to grow. The staff is well picked & well placed. New classes are being added regularly especially for the middle school-environmental engineering, Microsoft certifications, math. The literature curriculum is unmatched! This coming school year 2 grades are adding an additional classroom full of students, still leaving a waiting list. There is no gifted program here because all of the students are above & beyond for this area. The academics are strong and so is the character building & spiritual growth. There is accountability, progress review, curriculum review at all levels. Perfect? No way but there is definitely a short term AND a long term plan for this amazingly friendly school community. Is it the right fit for you? Only a tour & lots of questions can answer that. Too assume something happened for a certain reason without fact checking doesn't do you any service. “We absolutely loved this school. After almost two years we had to pull our son out due to COVID and then we moved an hour north. My son learned so much and the teachers were always sweet, but would discipline when needed. The director, Ms. Vivian always took the time to address any concern, question, etc. Always understanding and with a smile. YELLOW ROOM: Ms. Mareah & Ms. Violet were the best teachers. My son loved them and still talks about them today. Ms. Aurora is amazing and has such a great attitude. We will miss them and we hope you give them a try.”

“The best part about this school is the teachers. My son’s teacher, Ms. Heredia was amazing. How she managed to teach 24 kids, several of whom were virtual and the rest in person, is beyond me. She’s done a fabulous job keeping all kids engaged and my son has learned so much during the year with her. Plus she was always available to answer questions, and just a sweet person in general. I’m not as happy with the school’s administration. Other than through the teacher, there has been practically no communication directly from the school (especially, given the pandemic year, when communication was more important than ever), several times the information was passed on at the last minute, and I know several parents from the class who paid for various events, but the online kids were not allowed to attend and they were not reimbursed. I’m keeping my son in the school just because of the teachers but hope that there will be changes in the administration, as they have been doing disappointing job.”

“Attended the 7th grade there... back in 1954 - 55 year, when it was the original 2 story - Spanish Colonial Style.... Used to get there an hour before school and after coming on the same school bus with the Boca Ciega High Students - which is a couple of blocks away... Then we moved to the NE section of St Pete - then I had to take the city buses to and from school - but it was worth it. The next year I transferred to Mirror Lake Jr High! Got used to changing classes with six periods... One of the things I did not like was the 6th Period English class with the weekly spelling Bees... Got to learn how to play hand ball behind the school waiting for the Bus after school... Enjoyed the school....”

“The Forte School of Music is a wonderful place for all ages to learn. I wanted to take lessons there with loving and serving at CCWC to support the church as well. I took guitar and piano lessons with Eric. What I liked is that he paced the lessons slowly and answered questions with showing me an easier way to learn. He taught the parts of the guitar, finger placement on the strings, fretboard, strumming, music theory and tuning my guitar. He always made the class interesting, tuning with a phone app before the start and gave assignments to help bring me along. The piano lessons were fun and he recommended getting a three ring notebook and paper, and made diagrams to take home to study and practice from. I liked how logical the piano keys are laid out which made learning faster and I was able to answer his questions and play the keystrokes. They have certain weeks where you can miss a lesson if you have a commitment and make up the classes which was an added plus. I really think any student will feel right at home learning there! It also helps create great relationships with the teachers as a parent. This is my daughter’s 4th year attending and it won’t be the last. She excels in her academics every year. She Received numerous rewards like the Principal’s List etc. My niece also attends there and graduated as Valedictorian. Can’t be any more proud🥹 She is now in High school there. It doesn’t have to be this school but I recommend putting your child in a school that is small capacity and is Christ centered. It’s good on educational aspects and as well as Christ like characteristics.”
