“We brought our dog in for a health certificate for foreign travel. It’s a somewhat complicated issue because each country has its own requirements for an animal to be able to enter. Also, not all veterinarians are accredited to prepare the health certificate—you can’t just go to any vet. Even if you do have an accredited veterinarian, there’s special software to be able to submit the application electronically that not everyone has. If your vet can’t submit the application to the USDA electronically, it has to be sent by mail and you will have no idea when it will be returned by mail, and therefore won’t be able to plan when your pet will be able to travel. I said all that to say this, there’s a Dr. U (his last name is involved. Just call him Dr. U, they’ll know who you mean), who is accredited, knows all the ins and outs. There were 3 or 4 people involved in getting this certificate for our dog. Every single person was professional, courteous, really gave you a sense that they knew what they were doing, which makes you feel comfortable. And they have the electronic software. So, we had and appointment with them at 11:00 on a Tuesday. Wednesday at 11:00 they called me to tell me that the signed document with the USDA seal had been returned, ready to pick up, and we could travel. I can’t overstate how impressed I was with the overall experience, and it turned out to be less expensive than I was quoted by my original veterinarian, who could not submit electronically.”

“I was incredibly impressed by the compassion, professionalism, and empathy shown by the staff that assisted me in allowing my sweet kitty to go over the rainbow bridge. While I am in a unique location that isn’t serviced by any at home pet euthanasia services, I was referred to Heartland to see if they could assist even though their primary care is of large animals. After my sweet kitty had suffered with a sudden severe and extremely expensive health condition, we had to make the awful and most difficult decision to allow him to pass peacefully as his condition would be incredibly painful with or without treatment. They showed so much compassion and understanding from the first phone call, not an ounce bullying me or making me feel like an awful person for making this tough tough decision as every vet office I called had made me feel. They were human beings and gave my family and my sweet fur baby the BEST of care. They allowed us to be with him the entire time and do it outside (his favorite place to be), they were calm and compassionate and I just cannot say enough good things. This was one of the hardest days but I am 100% at peace with our decision and confident he went over the rainbow bridge with love and support and was pain free. “They took real great care of two of our dogs, one had sliced his ear almost in half and it had got infected. His ear looks great now and you have to really look to see where he was hurt. It really improved quickly. Our geriatric chihuahua had a froth on her leg that got really bad and infected and had some horribly dirty teeth. With good news she survived the surgery and has been able to keep her leg so far and is looking better everyday. Her teeth turned out so good and her breath smells tons better! Thank you so much. “We have two golden retrievers who didn’t like any vet we went to until we started coming to Animal care center of Weeki Wachee. We have been to some vets in the area but have not had good experiences. We only want the best of the best for our dogs and this is why we come here. Our dogs know where they are when we pull into the parking lot and they have never shown any signs of fear or anxiety when arriving and will jump out of the car and head to the door. Dr. Cooper and his staff are compassionate and patient. The entire staff will treat, care, and love your animal as if it were their own. Dr. Cooper will explain everything to you in a way that you understand and will answer any questions you have. You really feel like a part of their “family” when you are there with your animals. They also have boarding and camp cooper!”
