The Commons

KSU is an incredible campus. Did a walking tour with Quincy and he was both informative and fun. We stayed to eat at the commons and were very surprised at the overall variety and quality of the food.

The kids got it made. Good keep area to eat and all kinds of food. Very nice and safe area.

This place is honestly impressive, as far as college dining halls go. Meal plans are expensive, but the food is consistently good.

Stuff I like.
Lots of variety and good options for different diets. My favorite is the vegan table, which usually has some kind of rice, beans, and curried veggies. Sandwich station is good, and the desert selection is massive. If you’re trying to lose weight, avert your eyes.

Stuff I don’t like:
The pizza is made fresh, but the dough always tastes a little bland or underdone. Pasta too has never been my favorite. They also tend to put out fresh fruits (bananas and peaches especially) which are constantly a day or two underripe. I usually sneak a few out in my bag.

If you live here for more than a few semesters, you’ll eventually exhaust all the options, but to their credit, it takes a pretty long time. At least it’s not Stingers.
