We visited nearly all the churches in East Cobb over a 2 year search for a church home. Then God miraculously put Sojourn in front of us. We have been here for 8+ years and there is no other place where we would rather be!
They are Christ centered, Bible focused and a place that is full of grace, love, and warmth. On top of that the people are real and down to earth. The pastor is top notch and here you will never feel like you are just a number.
What a friendly group of people, with many young couples and children. Sunday as I pulled into parking lot in pouring rain, I looked up to see the Pastor with 2 umbrellas, 1 for me and 1 for him. What a great guy! This church is full of LOVE! Come and see for yourself.
After moving to East Cobb, my family and I searched for a number of years for a church where we could belong and be involved. We tried several of the mega congregations in the area, and although they do great things, it wasn't our idea of community that we feel a church should be. Luckily we stumbled upon Sojourn. After just one visit, witnessing the community, and the interpersonal relationships these folks were developing with one another, holding a common faith at the center of it all... we knew immediately we had found a place to hang our hat. That was close to two years ago. We are now part of the community, and have started to develop those real relationships that are central to a life of faith. Kudos to everyone at Sojourn. It truly takes a village, and they are laying strong foundational roots for all of us in the community. I highly recommend giving it a try if you are searching for the same thing.
My wife and I (mid twenties) join this church last July. We had been struggling to find a place to call home where we would sense an overall sense of community. Sojourn does it perfectly well and we felt so welcome and loved at first and still are. Ernie, the lead pastor, addresses relevant spiritual and social issues with a biblical and kingdom of God perspective that is so refreshing. I would definitely recommend you to visit if you are looking for a socially active community that loves God and one another.
Me and my fiance was searching for a church to join. We tried a few of the larger churches in our area. But they just wasn't what we were looking for. One day we end up meeting a member of the sojourn church a wonderful lady who is now one of our closest friends. She invited us no demend no pressure just a invite to come to her church one Sunday. I'm here to say that God sent her to us it was his way of answering our prayers for a place to worship. The people are great awesome fantastic and any other great word you can thank of to describe wonderful people. Pastor Ernie wow where do I start he changed my life in so many positive ways. He is so caring understanding non judgmental and so giving. I can go on and on but I just want to say this. If you're looking for a place to hear the good word and be surrounding by awesome people that won't judge you don't care about the color of your skin or how much money you have or don't have please give the sojourn church a try I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
