THRIVE Affordable Vet Care

My first time at this thrive location and they did not disappoint!

I was in a tight bind with an upcoming move in a week and my dog came down with an eye infection of sorts and my normal locations couldn’t see me.

This location called me first thing in the morning and got me in less than 2 hours later. The vet and the techs were more than helpful and understanding of my situation and so great even though I had never been there. I’ve never been disappointed with any of my thrive visits and this one was no different!

We have been bringing two pets to Thrive Midtown for about 6 months and have had generally positive experiences. However, none of them were extraordinary enough to note until our most recent visit.

Our senior dog has been struggling with pain for 5+ years, and many vets in the past have minimized it or been unable to explain it. She recently had a rough patch and we decided it was severe enough to try seeing a vet again for treatment. The manager, Abby, was able to squeeze us in same day and gave us frequent updates about when to arrive and pick up.

Dr. Carson is a true gem - she explained our dogs condition better than anyone has in the past, and actually offered us some solutions (medications) to help mitigate our dogs pain. She also understood that costs were a factor, and recommended multiple courses of action that would give us the results we need without paying for extraneous testing - basically they didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. Also, our dog had some blood work done and Dr. Carson followed up as soon as the results came back - 24 hours after our appointment (very fast)!

The only negative about this practice is that appointments are hard to come by as they stay booked. If you need urgent care, I highly recommend calling because they do accept walk ins and calling ahead will just give you the best chances of walking in with the least wait. If you need emergency care, Thrive recommends Blue Pearl Midtown, where I have also had good experiences.

Our dog Jade has been seen a few times by the Thrive team. While it is sometimes difficult to get an appointment, the Thrive team seems to really care about the animals they treat and I feel confident that our dog is getting the best treatment. They really take the time to discuss the issues with the pet parents and make us feel like our dog is getting quality care.

Wonderful manager Abby helped me and my geriatric dog 16 yrs old get a fast refill and appointment for follow up blood work. Abby was so knowledgeable and put me at ease during such a stressful emotional time. She was able to access my dog’s records from another Thrive in Marietta and give me comprehensive information by reviewing vet’s notes on possible next steps like refill RX and book appointment. Thank you again Abby!

So grateful for Dr. Barksdale and the whole Thrive Midtown staff. They genuinely care about my fur baby and treat her with so much love. The doctor is knowledgeable and experienced. She calls me directly with test results and to address any health concerns. The front desk staff is reliable and accommodating. Everyone is warm and kind. My pup is undoubtedly receiving the best care in town...and it’s affordable. Most highly recommended.
