I have been taking class and private lessons at Intown Pilates for at least 5 years now and it is a fantastic studio. I am a former Pilates teacher so I know a good studio and this is one of the best. All of the teachers are great to work with and very well trained.
You really can't go wrong with any of the instructors whether for privates sessions or any of the classes. One the best things about all of the instructors is they all focus on continuing educations and bring the new ideas and techniques to their teaching.
The facility is well run and always in impeccable condition. They have an excellent variety of equipment as well.
The location is great too as there is usually plenty of parking.
I have been a Pilates devotee since it first came to Atlanta, and for the past several years I have been going to Intown Pilates Atlanta, which is the best! The instructors are excellent. I love the advanced mat and tower classes, and the private instruction is fantastic. Ellen, the owner, does a wonderful job of keeping the studio up to date on the latest techniques, while also keeping the focus of instruction on the core principles. I highly recommend this studio.
I have been going here for a year now and always recommend it to my friends, especially those who live in Midtown. The instructors come from various backgrounds and have their own distinct styles, so there should be a fit for almost anyone. I enjoy and learn from all of them. I mostly go to Pilates classes, but the Barre class is also a lot of fun!
I have been taking private lessons at Intown Pilates for the past two months, and wow! I can already see and feel such a difference in body tone and muscle mass that I could never achieve through my favorite workout activity - running - alone. I learned that Pilates works very small muscle groups. The first time I went, I thought "Huh. I didn't work up a sweat and didn't get my heart rate up. So, this isn't much of an exercise routine." But, then I woke up the next day so sore I had a hard time getting out of bed! I was strengthening muscles I didn't know I had. In two months, my body has tightened up considerably and I've gone from a size 6 to a size 2-4. I could never have done that just by running.
Jessica, my instructor, is fabulous! She gives very clear instructions and watches me the entire time to ensure I use correct form. And, she gives me lots and lots of encouragement!
I had never done Pilates before going to Intown Pilates, but I can tell you the friendly ladies at Intown have made me a life-long devotee of this fabulous fitness activity. I highly encourage you to try it!
