I read some mixed reviews after I had already ordered, so I was a little concerned. But once the food got to me, I was pleasantly surprised! Once I heated the food up, it was great! Nicely seasoned, greens might have been a tad bit salty - but not enough to keep you from eating them, as they were tender and tasty. The mac & cheese was okay, I did have to drain some oil from it, but it had good flavor. And the oxtails were tender and delicious! And there was a decent portion of everything. I wasn't left feeling like I was price-gouged. Overall, I would definitely order from here again. Next time... catfish!!! And I'm looking forward to it!
Food was great. I had the smothered pork chop with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. Very tasty not overly seasoned. The porch chop was very tender and the gravy had the perfect consistency, not to thick and not to thin. My one and only negative about my meal is the ONE pork chop. It was on the smaller and thin side like I like them, but it was only ONE. This meal cost roughly $18 dollars. Pork chops are one of the least expensive meats you can buy. They're cheaper than chicken and catfish. My wife got 2 nice size catfish fillets with her meal. 2 pork chops should be the standard. I love the food and love supporting local businesses. And I understand the tight margins they have to work with. With that being said, I will have to pass on Who's Got Soul next time and try one of the many other southern eateries in Duluth.
Great food and great service. Loved this location. Bright and modern. I had beef ribs, turmeric rice, with collard greens (not cooked with meat). My husband had the freshly fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, with cabbage (not cooked with meat). We truly enjoyed our meal. This is a hidden soul food joint in Gwinnett. The BEST sweet tea EVER!
