Everyone I deal with there is friendly, helpful and have great enthusiastic attitudes This is a trait which is hard to come by these days. I rented my first lighting rig from them in 2009, then a wireless mic rig in 2010 for my wedding. This Halloween 2019 they came through for me again with a great powered EV rig and a high performance fog machine which put our elaborate Halloween setup way, way over the top! One of the primary reasons I like doing business with ASL is they alway have time for the small guys. They do giant rock shows and elaborate setups for big venues but still go out of their way to help the simple, smaller gigs like my projects. Alex Huseby is a great staff member who kept in constant communication with me during my project across a number of months. A+ first rate service, couldn't ask for more!”

“I can stay in this bodega for hours (although I think they'd be weirded out ;-) because it reminds me so much of home. Neighborhood groceries who sell not just food but a variety of affordable housewares, sundries, hair bobs and inexpensive treats that can mean the world in lean times when a $3 pair of costume earrings or a scratchy lottery are just what a gal needs. Staff is polite and prompt, prices very reasonable.”

“When I lived in ATL the place was right up the street from me. I met the owner the very first night, really cool dude. Atmosphere is very laid back and inviting for all. I signed up for a membership that very night. I visited that place sever times and enjoyed myself each time (except for that 1 time...well, nevermind). I've since moved back home to New Orleans but once this pandemic thing gets sorted out I will definitely visit again!”

“Recently went for the first time on a whim and LOVED it! The atmosphere is great, even on the random Wednesday night we went. The place is huge, with 2 bars, tables everywhere, a large outdoor area, and a large stage. The live band was really neat and sounded very good. All the food is served in small portions, so this is truly a tapas restaurant. Food and drinks were awesome. They even have an all vegetarian side of the menu. I had the shrimp tacos and octopus and they were great. My wife had the mac n cheese, which was to die for, and the sliders, which weren't all that great but didn't ruin the overall experience. The raspberry sorbet for dessert was amazing as well! We will for sure be coming back!”

“Temple Bar is a venerable neighborhood bar on Cass in mid-town Detroit that has the dive-y feel you are looking for. A variety of clientele will certainly pique your interest. Live shows too. A mere two blocks away, Temple is a great place to go before or after a hockey game at Little Caesers Arena. This a great bar for a quiet night to just hang out. It's small, personal, and just fun. No fancy tables or servers or expensive drinks, just a classic, local bar with friendly people. The bartenders are so cool and chill. Definitely a great place to go after an event at the LCA!”
