This guy is a real chiropractor; no frills, no music and incense, no ambiance=so what? He is a hands-on-REAL-treatment-guy-gets-results practitioner. He helped my neck more than 4 other chiros the VA sent me to. I'm grateful for the no-frills hands on get results treatment. If you are looking for a cushy office with sculpture and all the latest trendy mags in the waiting room, incense and music and bells and chimes and fu-fu-ness-go elsewhere. IF you don't care about ambiance and are SERIOUSLY interested in feeling better? Go HERE.

He got my chronic neck pain fixed after a few appointments. After the first one I felt better; after around 3 it was GONE. Years of chronic neck pain-gone! But as time went on, he started doing less--kind of rushing- and not relieving my pain as he had at the beginning. For this reason, after my neck again started bothering me (a couple months after seeing him), the VA is sending me in again. This time I'll only have a few appointments til I feel better and then stop. I think too much manipulation makes you hyper-mobile and nothing sticks. (the VA gave me 12 appointments! too much) Just my experience. And he is more crowded and rushed too.... Time will tell. He is better at necks than lower back in my experience. But nobody else did what he did and actually alleviated my neck pain! I didn't care for traction though everything else was good.

Was able to give relief with quick hands on adjustments and machine assisted stretching and massage. Great take-home advice as well. Thank you for Ahuimanu location. We have so few services here.

I have been to many chiropractors over the years. When I moved here last year, it was quite stressful just thinking about finding a new chiropractor that I could feel comfortable with. I saw Shayne Guthrie simply because the location and hours were very convenient. Initially, I was a little uncomfortable because the sessions were very fast and he used a lot of equipment that was unfamiliar to me. I have now been going to him for about a year. Although his technique was very different from what I was used to, I quickly learned to trust him and found that his treatments are very effective and long lasting. I really appreciate that I get a very targeted treatment based on the specific issue I am having at that time. By the way, Holly (one if his massage therapists) is also terrific.
