“Plastic gloves are provided so you can get knee deep in the seafood. My preference is to use my hands without gloves. The gloves just get in the way. We ordered the 6 lb platter...we were not disappointed. We chose the signature sauce which gave the dish more than enough flavor. Extra butter does not need to be purchased.”

“By far the best decorating store on the island. A huge variety of decor items and the best Christmas tree ornament selection on the island too - including the Waikiki Christmas store. Beautiful selection for every budget. Located at the Polynesian Culture Center, but just outside. You don't have to pay the entrance fee to go to this store or any of the food vendors or stores in the Hukilau Market.”

“Most "surf" shops in Hawaii are selling t-shirts and logoed schwag to look at while you eat your shave ice . . . The staff won't know much about surfing. They might have a few boards on a rack but good luck. This place is the opposite of that. THIS IS A SURFBOARD SHOP. They make and sell surfboards right there. I have a few Schaper boards but had never been to the shop. It exceeded my expectations. The staff and Carl take their time and know every detail of every board. Absolute pros.”

“Great little spot! We have been coming by the old sugar mill for YEARS and they finally renovated it and got new tenants. We were excited that it was Thai food. Food was pretty good. We had the Pad Thai and the Pad Seiw. Both were good and the Pad Seiw had fresh looking extra thick rice noodles that were really good. Sauce wasn’t as sweet as we hoped though. Pad Thai tasted very good and was traditionally sweet. Big fresh shrimp with it. Spring rolls were good too. Great new local spot!”

“On April 19th my hearing aid died while visiting from Oregon. After calling some of my hearing aid dealers on the mainland, I was given the number to Russell Hearing Aids. April 20th, my girlfriend called and spoke with Russ. I asked her to ask what he'd charge for cleaning. He replied "No charge, come in and I'll see if I can fix it" I replied to her after they hung up, "They still exist"! (Meaning the old school hearing aid dealer) It baffles me to see hearing aid dealers charging $25 - $30 to change tubes while most tubes cost less than a buck and change each. We showed up to meet him and he was welcoming and indeed he was old school. Russ spent 2 hours of his time with me trying to repair my aid and going through old aids to loan me and finally found something to help me through the rest of the trip. Russ is the person that every child and every person new to hearing loss should visit. Not because of his knowledge, but, because of the man he is and the fact that he cares more than others . Words cannot express how thankful I was to have found and met him.”

“Located at the entrance of the Market place. Next to the Polynesian Cultural Center. My family and I ordered the kalbi ribs, spicy and teriyaki chicken rice plate. Everyone really enjoyed their choices. The meat was tender with lots of flavor. There are plenty of tables but I've seen instances where different parties may eat together.”

“When I say trust complete custom floors for all your flooring or remodeling.. you can trust me. I have been victim to a couple of bad remodel jobs and installation. Leilani is very knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about what she does. You can trust her to be fair, get the job right and be there for you if something goes wrong. More than I can say for Home Depot ..”

“No idea what this was. Just that it looked like donuts with fillings. Decided to give it a try. Comes in a box of 3 and you can mix-n-match any flavours. O.M.G...its really good! Freshly made when ordered... Perhaps tats the difference. Soft chewy texture with just the right amount of sugar coating. Perfect dessert after the poke bowl!!”

“Ive been getting waxed for over 2 years now at a few different places. Aynjul is by far number 1. Best on the island or anywhere for that matter. I barely even knew I was being waxed. I was tired of constant shaving and itching. This is the way to go. .”

“I would absolutely recommend Alluvion for floral arrangements. Having a very small wedding on the north shore I was having a hard time finding a florist that didn’t have a crazy expensive minimum order price. I finally found Alluvion, and I was blown away when I picked up the floral arrangements. They were absolutely beautiful, and so much cheaper than what I was quoted by other florist. Definitely consider Alluvion if you’re getting married or just wanting beautiful floral arrangements(:”

“I’m from the PNW and am super picky when it comes to seafood. I must say Deez Bowls had the best poke I ever ate! The fish tasted like it was caught that day. The owner hung out with us and made sure we all felt more than welcome. He gave us other insights on where else to eat and we appreciated his hospitality. Great experience all around!”

“Was so excited to discover Country Kickboxing down the street from our vacation rental. Got to get a pads session in with Geremy and it was awesome. He taught me some great combos to add to my training. Geremy has battle tested knowledge plus the patience and intuition to teach. Highly recommended. Will 100% book again on my next trip!”

“Justin and his team really helped us buying a first home. Shannon really gave us a great morgage and closing rate through this evening going up time. And Justin really lead us through process nicely and friendly. Everything can be done so fast and easy by electric now I loved it. He works weekdays, weekends, days and night. The family is in a real estate business long time, they know a lot of stuffs, people and people know them too. It was a good ride and I understood the process nicely. Thank you so much for everything!”

“I have been going to Dr. Staphe Fujimoto for two years, and my experience with him & the staff has always been pleasant & wonderful. From Tammy & Robin of the front desk to all the hygienists and Dr. Fujimoto, they are all warm, welcoming & highly efficient. Their professionalism & the state of the art technology is most impressive. I highly recommend Dr. Fujimoto for all your dental needs.”

“We eat at Zippy's at least 3-4 times when we come home, and it rarely disappoints. We must have come at a bad time because they literally only had 2 wait staff in the dining area. They saw us but no one really even acknowledged us for a good 10 minutes (we would have left but we all were REALLY craving our Zips). Once we were seated the waitress was nice, so I'm just attributing it to a little stress from being overwhelmed. The menu has changed significantly since we've been back (2019), which was a little disappointing as well. But the food was perfect, especially right off the airplane. My son wanted a dream cake but there was none, so we got the standard Apple Napple, which never fails to hit the spot.”

“Overall have enjoyed staying here. The staff are friendly, the property is in good condition, the beachfront is great. The reason for only 4 stars is not the facility, but the time it takes to get to the rest of the island. Rush "hour" is bad. If you book an early time anywhere and do not want to worry about being late. Plan on leaving 2 hours ahead of time. It may only take you 70 minutes, but could take the full two hours+. So recommendation is to leave after 8:30. We did have an issue with the refrigerator. Called the office and in 15 minutes, Tom was at our room working on the fridge. Again, the staff are great!!! If I was going to do my vacation again, I would book a few days in Honolulu and the rest of the time here.”

“Ivan reached out to me within minutes of me leaving a message. He had Tony in less than 24 hours working at my place that included, plumbing and electrical and more. Tony is ridiculously knowledgeable for his young age. I almost don't want to leave a review and mention him because people are going to request him more and he might be too busy for me next time. He is on point in his field and it's clear his family raised him right !”
