“It's a quiet and serene place to enjoy the company of friends and enjoy high tea during the afternoons or music and libations in the evening. High tea is offered in four variants from $35 - $80pp or a la carte. There is a good selection of teas and the tea sandwiches and petit fours are delicious...my only quibble is with the scones...they're not the same as I remember from past visits...a little too dry and crumbly for my taste. Still, it's an oasis outside of Waikiki, yet still convenient from most anywhere.”

“I graduated UHM back in 2012, and have lived in Honolulu for a good part of my life. If you spend just a few years here in Hawai'i you'll hear a bunch of ghost stories around town. From 3rd or 4th hand knowledge (unvarified as I never experienced any of this myself), the ninth floor of the Hale Mokihana Dormitory is said to be haunted by a student who suicide back in the 90's. Others say that there are ghost figures roaming the halls and every now and then, someone will say they seen someone standing at the foot of their bed. If you engage in conversation asking who they are and why they're there, the figure will say, "This is my room. I died in here" before vanishing.”

“Good large gym very friendly staff and just remember to bring your own towel and ID. Wear Normal clothes to the gym because if ur bra is showing to much I’ve seen people get in trouble. Honestly the gym on base is not as bad as people say. I love the sauna and how less crowded it is because of you go in the morning before work or after work it’s usually packed. Try to go for a late night run on the track then hit the weights later then sauna. Perfect way to get a good workout without having to haul on the machine before someone else does”

“I needed 16 bougainvillea plants in assorted colors for a landscaping project at my condominium building, and when the Resident Manager checked with various nurseries, unanimously they recommended that we contact Mary at Hawaii Kai Nursery. The place is a bit tricky to find, but once there, it's mecca for healthy bougainvillea plants in an array of colors and sizes. Mary was absolutely wonderful in assisting me as I selected the colors and size that I thought would work best for our project. I couldn't get all of the plants that I purchased in my vehicle at the same time, so I made a couple of other trips on different days and was delighted to find that Mary had taken the time to select and put aside "our" plants so they would be ready when I arrived. Each time that I went to do a plant pick-up, I had an opportunity to interact with Mary, and doing so was truly a joyful experience! In sum, if you are looking for good quality bougainvillea plants at an affordable price with a variety of colors to pick from and a lovely, knowledgeable person to assist you, this is the place to go.”
