  Fantastic zoo right in the heart of Lincoln Park and just north of downtown. Very easy walk from there and navy pier. Just walk along the lakefront and there is a crossover of lakeshore drive right into the park and the zoo. Plenty of animals to see ranging from lions, seals, reptile, polar bear, rhino's, flamingos and zebras. There is an African safari exhibit and houses for birds, reptiles, monkeys, and gorilla. There is also a children's section and a nice train for the kids. Best part is that the whole place is FREE. In the winter they have a spectacular zoo lights presentation.

  We love visiting this great zoo. The new updates are awesome and it’s great that it’s free admission, although it may not be for long. Parking has gone up but it still beats the normal price of tickets for a zoo this nice. This is a treasure in north Chicago that anyone that loves animals should take the time to visit.

  Wonderful FREE zoo! This zoo has so much going for it. Indoor and outdoor animals, informative and interactive exhibits, a carousel, farm area, beautiful pond and so much more. They are doing construction to improve it and make it even better. The location is wonderful as well, right off the lake. Great for families. The zoo is free but there IS a parking fee.

  Great zoo. Really come a long way in the last few years. Exhibits we're well maintained and we really enjoyed the wide array of animals. The kids loved the polar bears and penguins.
  The inside exhibits we're also wonderful. The primate house and gorilla enclosures really gave us an up close look at the animals and the chance to discuss what life was like for them in the wild.
  A must see stop if you are in Chicago.

  Lincoln Park Zoo is a Chicago treasure.
  
  I don’t really like going to zoos or seeing animals in captivity, but there’s something magical just the same to see these amazing creatures so close up... that’s why I like that it’s free.
  
  I don’t have to commit to a whole day of the zoo, I can just pop in for a few animals at a time. And they do try hard to make the animals as comfortable as they can.
  
  The African Journey exhibit is amazing and I appreciate that they acknowledge people also live there! Not only wild animals!
  
  The kids zoo is great. The farm is fun when it’s warm. The great apes ???? and small primates houses are fascinating if heartbreaking.
  
  I also love people watching there! The fact that it’s free attracts people from all over Chicago and beyond. I love all the families that come (and the drama that ensues). It’s also great for families because they can bring their own food and not pay expensive park food prices.
