(September 17, 2016, 12:30 am)My son has taken vocal lessons with Lana Manson for 6 years. He is now a senior at a performing Arts H.S. Lana taught my son to sing classical music. He sings classical in Italian, German, and learning French. If it wasn't for Lana, he would've auditioned and qualified to be a student at this high school. MAI is a great place for young people to learn the art of music. The picture of the alley was loaded by an ignorant person. This does not reflect the learning at the school or its staff. This Derek dmb.....Is dUmb. Shame on you for posting this crap. The big screen photo is from the students' recital at Chicago States University. I hope this encourages everyone to seek out great teachers at MAI. The staff members are musicians and artists who perform on their personal time. What's better than learning from artists walking the walk, sing the songs, and playing music with passion. Later, Derek....????

(August 4, 2016, 4:28 pm)My son is in the Advanced String Ensemble and takes Bass lessons from Mike Manson. He has grown as an artist during his 1.5 years here.
My daughter takes voice lessons from Lana Manson. She is finding her voice and loves coming to class.
The Directors and teachers are dedicated to student growth and seem to have a passion for seeing young African- Americans thrive. Students are on a college track and encouraged to compete and perform. There is street parking available.
