  Nice beach for families, as Hollywood Beach and Montrose Beach cater to different types of crowds. Public amenities are available such as a restroom, accessible ramp, and concessions stand.

  Not as crowded or fratty as North Avenue Beach. Lots of space along the lakefront and a decent sized beach, it's great for a barbecue too.

  I've always had an overall pleasant experience at Foster Beach. There's nothing like summertime in Chicago, going to the beach every day I can! So all I really need is a nice clean beach to hang out, lay down a towel, and go for a swim. They have a nice snack shop, too. And trees nearby for shade. Foster is a great choice for a nice beach day in my opinion!

  IMO, best beach in Chicago. The sand is immaculate. You can wade out into the lake quite a ways and the bottom is super nice. Water is crisp and clear. Just enough wave action to keep the kiddos excited. Plenty of space on the beach even during peak times. Easy access by bike or CTA. Bathrooms could use an update though, they're a bit grungy.

Foster Beach - Beach - Chicago - Airbnb

All the beaches along Lake Michigan are great, but Foster is usually quiet, has ample parking, a snack shop and restrooms, is family friendly, and has a wheelchair and stroller accessible board walk down to the water.
